Role:
As a Securities Market Interface Engineering lead within Custody Technology, you will work together with product development and operational teams and members of the development team to provide solutions that improve efficiency, decrease operational risk, and enable the business to expand. You will have significant experience in building high-performing, scalable and enterprise-grade event driven applications adopting best-in-class engineering practices. Managerial Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)
- Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management and planning while monitoring end results
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues
- Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards
- Integrate in-depth knowledge of applications development with overall technology function to achieve established goals
- Provide evaluative judgement based on analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations including drawing from internal and external sources
- Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Engineering Lead Responsibilities:
- Working with the team to define the architecture, design, development, code review, testing and maintenance of applications.
- Build a securities platform with a consistent market interface by abstracting market specific communication protocols and formats and enables straight through processing automation.
- Design and implement scalable applications and services with a solid focus on quality, continuous integration, and deployment.
- Proven architecture experience in building horizontally scalable, highly available, highly resilient platforms that can handle millions of messages across markets in US and Latin America.
- Write testable code following clean coding and SOLID design principles.
- Perform code reviews and contribute to overall quality, maintainability and testability of software developed.
- Be willing and able to adapt to changes in priorities and requirements.
- Be a self-starter and plan/schedule own work for tasks and projects, implement functionality without direct supervision.
- Work closely with clients and stakeholders to define feature requirements and deliver a product that materially impacts the business and improves the end user experience.
- Work closely with teams to form good working culture and continuously adapt to different working environment.
Qualifications:
- At least 15 years of "hands-on" software development experience.
- Strong "hands-on" experience in .Net Core, .Net framework and restful web services including its data interchange format/definition such as XML, JSON.
- Familiar with different persistent storage technologies such as RDMS (SQL Server).
- Solid experience working with source code management tools – Git or Bitbucket.
- Good understanding of clean coding principles.
- Good understanding of code quality measurements using tools like Sonar and able to implement design and implement unit, integration, and functional tests.
- Must demonstrate strong familiarity of design patterns.
- Strong knowledge of Securities settlement lifecycle is a MUST.
- A team-player who is comfortable working in a team that deals with ambiguity and problem solving
- Experience managing global technology teams
- Good written and verbal communication skills. Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Strong experience working with OpenShift / Kubernetes or other cloud platforms
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

$176,720.00 - $265,080.00
