This is a key leadership position within the Trade and Working Capital Solutions (TWCS) technology team.  Join an industry leader in the Trade Finance space, supporting global commerce for our customers as we invest aggressively to modernize our technology and innovate aggressively to ensure continued leadership as the global trade ecosystem as it rapidly evolves toward digitization.

The Director of TWCS Onboarding Technology is responsible for driving end-to-end technical solutions for client and counterparty onboarding, and client integration. It focuses on delivering solutions for growing the business through simplifying and streamlining the user experience for new clients and counterparties across the full suite of Trade Finance and Working Capital products. This includes client integration technology, with a particular focus on client ERP’s.

The role must work closely with business leaders across TWCS business to build a reusable capability with a consistent client experience across products.  This solution should consider both capabilities that can be built internally, as well as partnering with innovative external platforms to create a best-in-class solution.  This role must also work closely with key partners across Citi Technology to integrate the TWCS onboarding process into the broader firmwide onboarding processes. 

Key Responsibilities:

The role will include, but not limited to the following:

  • Partner closely with TWCS senior management to execute the current vision for onboarding, while continuing to expand the vision in ways that speed up time to onboard for better client experience and quicker revenue recognition.
  • Evaluate the current limitations of client onboarding and other control functions to determine if there are ways to simply and y automate client and counterpart control processes in a way that broaden the market for our services.
  • Define and manage delivery scope, including all dependencies. Negotiate benefits, timelines, and costs with key stakeholders.  Manage stakeholder communication and engagement.
  • Manage a cross-functional technology delivery team to deliver new and enhanced capabilities in the onboarding space.
  • Work across capabilities to streamline the end-to-end client and counterparty onboarding experience across products for the bank.
  • Develop solutions to onboard key TWCS stakeholders and counterparties that don’t fit the bank’s traditional ‘client’ model.
  • Work across control functions to simplify and automate controls relevant to onboarding to speed onboarding time and to expand the market for TWCS solutions.
  • Embrace Agile techniques and scale to driver efficiency and flexibility for technical delivery.
  • Driving a hands-on engineering culture for the onboarding team, adopting modern tools, practices, and technology.
  • Ensure scalable and robust architecture for all new solutions.
  • Constantly innovate and identify new opportunities to use technology to solve the needs of the bank, our customers, and our partners.

This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed. Other job-related duties may be assigned as required.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years in hands-on technology leadership roles.
  • 10+ year’s experience managing global, cross-functional, agile technology teams of 50 – 100 people.
  • 8+ experience in large technology development with exposure to Onboarding, Channels, and Client-facing technologies.
  • 5+ year’s experience and understanding of enterprise architecture – both functional and technical – and experience in facilitating discussions around this in large organizations.
  • Hands-on Technology leader capable of strategic solutioning, hands-on development, and assessment of code quality.
  • Experience with agile delivery, modern development practices (Dev/Ops, Dora, Microservices, and API’s), and Cloud Technology
  • Experience and aptitude in Agile and DevOps approach – e.g., continuous integration, test automation, frequent releases, containerization.
  • History of delivering large complex systems in a distributed environment using modern delivery techniques.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders.
  • Broad scope of understanding of complex systems and how to modernize them.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills to build a cohesive team capable of succession to more senior roles.
  • Be an engineering culture carrier, with strong talent focus with the ability to successfully recruit and develop experts from leading organizations across the globe
  • Experience in financial services, fintech, and/or trade and logistics is a plus.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience (Masters Degree is a plus )

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
