AVP - Tax & Reporting Custodian Bank provides full leadership and supervisory responsibility. Provides tax operational leadership and direction to team(s) for Taxation on Securities Transactions and Mutual/ Discretionary Funds. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge through provision of value-added perspectives or operational services. May contribute to the development of new techniques, automation, models and plans within area of expertise. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Generally has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness of end results and shared responsibility for project. Work affects an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family. Full supervisory responsibility, ensuring motivation and development of team through professional leadership to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations as well as direction of daily tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall management of the tax liabilities, of Securities Services Operation Citi, both directly and in connection with transactions with clients, including the related compliance, tax reporting, and controversy processes.
  • Resolve tax settlement issues, and serve as a SME (subject matter expert) to interpret against policies, guidelines or processes; escalate complex issues as needed
  • Contributes to the filing and the regulatory reporting of the Securities Services Operation.
  • Project management skill
  • May participate in managing payments to tax authorities in compliance with specific tax regulations.
  • Manages professional team(s) and department(s).
  • Integrates expertise and industry expertise within a defined area.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of how areas harmoniously integrate within the sub-function.
  • Coordinates and contributes to the goals of the entire function.
  • Uses communication and diplomacy skills to guide and influence others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasionally external customers.
  • Team leader of a small team, or function as a single incumbent with management responsibilities for a function.
  • Perform other duties and functions as assigned
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 6-8+ years of experience
  • Previous people management experience
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Brevet A, B, C is plus
