This role will be accountable to the USPB MCA Transformation Leader who will ‘quarterback’ all Risk and Control program changes required by the Consent Order, with focus on controls.  The primary work performed by the Control Uplift team will be related to the work laid out in the Risk and Control workstream to align ARCMs with the CEAM process/control taxonomies and enhance controls to meet the new minimum control standards.  There will also be involvement in all other Consent Order requirements where controls will be improved.  This includes coordination with the CARAM work in the Compliance workstream as well as control uplift required in the Data and Finance workstreams. 

This position will specifically have responsibility for mobilizing USPB resources to meet plan milestones and activities, and monitoring and reporting on the Control Uplift components of the plan.  Work will include being a key resource to more junior team members and to those involved in Control Uplift across the BCH teams.

The role will involve building partnerships with assigned individuals in the USPB Risk and Control teams and the BCH teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the plan to build Global Process MCA Profiles (GPMPs) for each L3 CEAM Process owned by USPB
  • Aligning today’s ARCMs to each GPMP, and revising controls to meet minimum control standards.  This includes ensuring consistency of and tracking progress made by BCH teams, aligning taxonomies centrally and building necessary controls.
  • Build a tracking and monitoring plan, including associated reporting, to ensure control uplift requirements and timelines are met.
  • Gain understanding and awareness of all interdependencies related to control uplift within the Consent Order.
  • Coordinate activities with regulatory SMEs to understand control requirements related to regulatory obligations.  Coordinate activities for required control uplift with appropriate data and finance SMEs.  Coordinate adjustment and build of controls as necessary.
  • Once the overall approach is defined, take a leadership role in defining and deploying the tactical approach to achieve the outcomes defined in the USPB  project plan.
  • Participating in taskforce calls, understanding guidance from Central Controls, and then defining requirements and determining execution strategies to achieve success in USPB.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with other Control Uplift Team members and individuals involved in the work across USPB, with Central Controls, and representatives in similar roles across the firm.  
  •  Collaborate with other Front Line Units to ensure a consistent approach to Transformation Planning and share and leverage best practices.  
  • Identify and implement communication strategies that engage with all key stakeholders and keep them abreast of progress.
  • Identify and escalate gaps in the execution plan or with execution progress, leading build and implementation of path to green solutions.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years Financial Services experience, including at least 3 - 5 in the Control/Risk mitigation space.
  • Strong risk acumen, familiarity with Operational Risk (ORM) Policies/Procedures/Standards, experience with Citi Risk & Controls (CRC), MCA program knowledge, and the ability to design controls to address risks. 

  • Highly organized with attention to detail and experience successfully leading complex projects across multiple organizations to successful & timely completion.

  • Ability to deliver strong credible challenges and appropriate pressure testing; proactive approach to resolving inconsistencies, risks or issues identified throughout daily interactions with stakeholders.

  • History of excelling in a co-operative and collaborative working environment across multiple teams and with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with all levels of the organization including senior management.  To include development of presentations to describe the Control uplift plan and status.

  • Demonstrated success in influence management, conflict resolution and consensus building

  • Business/process experience within Consumer Financial Services

  • Expert knowledge of tools (ie. Excel, SP workflows, etc.) preferred

  • Knowledge of key U.S. regulations and laws preferred

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$130,880.00 - $196,320.00
