The Head of Markets Sales for Germany & Austria is a senior level position responsible for developing, leading and aligning the Citi Markets platform and the client target market, in coordination with the Trading team. The overall objective of this role is to create a cross-product strategy that ensures Citi’s products are position as the leader in the market, and achieves market and wallet share growth.

Responsibilities:

o  Develop short and long-term strategies for the business to achieve revenue growth targets, in line with organizational objectives

o  Build a Client-franchise network across the region that performs against local and international banks

o  Increase market and wallet share for the business and ensure the Episodic trade opportunity is fully explored across the region

o  Manage efficient execution of key initiatives and review processes

o   Partner with HR and provide direction and oversight to human capital related processes and programs

o   Create and ensure the governance and control infrastructure in partnership with control functions

o   Leading strong governance and controls:

o   Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit and Finance in order to -ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure

o  Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics

o   Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; and ensure that all team members understand the need to do the same, demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation

o   Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets; and ensure that all team members understand the need to do the same

o   Adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by your role which will be communicated to you

o   Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe

- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

o   Experience in a related role

o   Credibility to lead, motivate and influence a diverse population across geographies, products and matrixed reporting lines

o   Superior interpretive and problem solving skills; demonstrated pragmatic approach to ensure limited resources are directed appropriately

o   Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

o   Ability to influence and create alignment at senior levels across multiple products, clients, geographies and competing priorities

o   Ability to travel extensively across the region

Education:

o   Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

o   Master’s degree preferred

Candidates applying for this role must be aware that it is a Certified Role, subject to the FCA and PRA Certification Regime.

The Certification Regime is one element of the Individual Accountability Regime which came into effect on 7 March 2016.

Under the Certification Regime, Citi UK regulated entities (Citi entities) must ensure that employees working in certain roles categorised as specified significant harm functions (Certified Roles) are assessed as fit and proper to carry out their role.

Under the guidance provided by the FCA and PRA, firms should have regard to the following when assessing fitness and propriety:

* Honesty, integrity and reputation

* Financial soundness

* Competence and capability

In order to comply with the requirements of the Certification Regime, Citi entities must take reasonable care to ensure that an employee does not perform a Certified Role without first being certified as Fit and Proper. For this reason, you will be assessed for this role against the Fit and Proper requirements, as described above.

This assessment will be carried out through extensive interviews, self-disclosures, permitted criminal record checks, regulated reference checks, credit checks and other background screening checks.
