The Strategy Lead Analyst will join the wider Citibank Europe Plc (CEP) Business Execution Office, comprising of a diverse team of professionals whose activities are aligned to the requirements of Citi’s leading European bank chain entity. The CEP Business Execution Office drives cross-enterprise initiatives and consistency, governance and end-to-end process alignment, scalable capabilities and the implementation of best practices across the legal entity.  This is a high-profile role with significant exposure to senior leadership.


Responsibilities:

  • Work within the strategy function, supporting the development and implementation of strategies to grow the business and the legal entity. Analyze and assess implications for the business, and conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses to assess new opportunities, investments, and partnership projects.
  • Support in the development of CEP’s Strategic Plan and Planning process.
  • Lead projects across their lifecycle; identifying and structuring the problem, analyzing root causes, developing solutions, communicating project results, and obtaining buy-in for change.
  • Lead initiatives that are cross governance, efficiency, controls and compliance.
  • Synthesize information into executive ready views for senior executives including; Executive Management Meetings, Board of Director updates, Strategy documents.
  • Deliver regular global and country level competitive intelligence analysis.
  • Follow emerging industry trends and potential disrupters to segments and strategy.
  • Deliver specific ad-hoc analysis and tactical support in preparation for business and management meetings.
  • Demonstrate a significant grasp of the organization, the business, and the markets to deliver crisp and succinct executive-level responses.
  • Grasp key priorities and complex issues quickly for the larger organization and create clear written presentations/communications
  • Document findings of study and prepare recommendations for implementation of new systems, procedures, or organizational changes.
  • Interview personnel and conduct on-site observation to ascertain unit functions, work performed, and methods, equipment, and personnel used.
  • Analyze data gathered and develop solutions or alternative methods of proceeding.
  • Plan study of work problems and procedures, such as organizational change, communications, information flow, integrated production methods, inventory control, or cost analysis.
  • Confer with personnel concerned to ensure successful functioning of newly implemented systems or procedures.
  • Performs other duties and functions as assigned.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • Strong level of experience in Financial Services.
  • Project planning and management experience.
  • Prior Consulting experience.
  • Understands financial services businesses and operating model
  • Proven strategic thinking and analytic skills coupled with financial acumen. Demonstrated ability to synthesize information, prioritize business goals and drive results with a high sense of urgency.
  • Able to translate data and metrics from across different constituencies in order to create clear and concise executive presentation materials. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Able to create support across a wide range of stakeholders through well-developed interpersonal and influencing capabilities.
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communications skills. Able to work through a large, complex matrix organization; demonstrates a flexible approach and resilience to setbacks.
  • Promotes a culture of collaboration and teamwork across organizational boundaries; willing to break down business and/or functional silos to optimize results.
  • Franchise player; broad, critical thinker, self-motivated; comfortable working with ambiguity.
  • Organizationally savvy; understands systems, management processes, knows where to go for information and how to interpret. Pragmatic problem solver, forward thinker with independence of thought.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree
