Securities & Derivatives Analyst 1 - C09 - CHENNAI

The Securities & Derivative Analyst 1 is an entry level position responsible for processing orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team. The overall objective of this role is to assist in the clearance, settlement and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions.

Responsibilities:

1. Excellent understanding on the Corporate Action operating model from Global Custodian, Local Custodian or Middle office perspective

2. Need to have comprehensive processing  knowledge of all the Corporate Action types - Mandatory , Voluntary & Mandatory with Choice

3. Need to have working knowledge on all the Corporate Action events from Notification, Reminder , Instruction deposit, payment processing until reconciliation for all the major events like  Merger, Spin-Off / De-Merger, Rights issue, Exchange Offer, Tender Offer, Forward & Reverse Splits, Bonus Issue, Redemptions, Detachment, Dividends, Pay downs for MBS/ABS Securities, etc

4.. Should have extensive understanding on swift messages MT564, MT565,MT566,MT 567,MT568 ,MT 202,MT103 etc . Having knowledge on the MX swift message is added advantage

5. Handling all the critical events with robust control environment to mitigate operational & Regulatory Risk

6. Should have extensive knowledge on the complex & interliked events like Restructuring , Detachment which comprised of paper work along with co-ordination with Custodian , Issuer agents & other key stakeholders.

7. Able to decipher a MT564/ Corporate Actions notification and understand the market nuances / complexities and disseminate the notifications in simple , client friendly terms with close traction on the key dates, key special requirements & associated event risks.

8.Prepare and submit periodic internal and external regulatory reports

9.Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• Relevant experience of 6- 8 yrs in the Corporate Actions processing with preferably a MBA
• Fundamental understanding of Equities, Bonds , structured notes & other Derivative products like EA/ED, Swaps, TARN etc
• Proven ability to perform various concurrent activities/projects in a high-risk environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of macros
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience in Business, Accounting or Finance
