Applications Development Senior Analyst, Assistant Vice President

The Applications Development Senior Analyst is a management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities to accomplish planned implementation.

Responsibilities:

• Manage one or more Applications Development teams in an effort to accomplish established goals as well as conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)
• Utilize in-depth knowledge and skills across multiple Applications Development areas to provide technical oversight across systems and applications
• Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects
• Contribute to formulation of strategies for applications development and other functional areas
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business integrate to accomplish business goals
• Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual data in complicated and unique situations
• Impact the Applications Development area through monitoring delivery of end results, participate in budget management, and handling day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards negotiating with external parties when necessary
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Skills/Experience:

• Experience in managing the delivery of a Data Acquisition in banking or financial institutions.
• Holds in-depth knowledge of ETL processing (AB Initio), EDW implementation, Big data/Hadoop platform, RDBMS (Oracle,DB2), Unix.
• Big Data Experience - Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Python Good hands on RDD logic, looping concepts and Hadoop architecture 
• Expert in feasibility analysis before implementing any change requirement whether current Technology stack will support or not.  
• Acts as single point of contact for application technology team for consultation & decision making.
• Has strong experience in Analysis and Designing of Re-architecture of application migration to new technology.
• Good understanding of testing - JUnit, Regression, Integration Jobs creation and Scheduling of jobs  
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills with a proven ability to multi-task and successfully execute complex technical problems 
• Possesses in depth knowledge of GENESIS and RUBY system 
• Has the ability to Perform Capacity Management forecasting future hardware requirements for application. 
• Ability to fully develop proof of concept and be able to migrate to production if required, or properly hand off to another team with full documentation Hands on Code Review experience 
• Interacts and negotiates well with senior business representatives and Technical Architecture.

​Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience in computer science.
• Master’s degree preferred not mandatory.

Additional Skills/Experience:

• Experience delivering end to end data automation solutions for regulatory reporting.
• Good to have data modelling and database concepts.
• Experience in managing and delivering high performance data management solutions and reusable components for large-scaled system integration and data warehousing initiatives using data transformation technology within financial industry.
• Experience in data delivery and acquisition for Treasury and Liquidity Reporting.
• Ability to create and review high level and detailed level process designs.
• Should have root cause analysis skills, able to quickly analyze and interpret issues.
