ITeSS Transformation and Governance Lead
The Tax Technology Team within the Corporate Tax department is responsible for driving management, governance, and compliance of IT Enabled Smart Solutions (ITeSS) through the consistent implementation of policies, standards, and procedures. The team partners with others across Tax and Citi to drive implementation of enterprise wide ITeSS strategy, policies, processes, and practices. The team is also responsible for measures that deliver transformation and policy adherence within Tax to advance the progress of Tax’s EUC and ITeSS risk reduction agenda.
This role reports to the Global Head of Tax Technology and supports the effective management, governance, and reduction in EUC and ITeSS risk through operationalization of the requirements set out in policies, standards, procedures. The role involves vertical as well as horizontal management of and communication with multiple global stakeholders internally within Tax and other Citi businesses. Excellent negotiation and communication skills, combined with capacity to influence a wide range of audiences, as well the ability to lead delivery and oversight of multiple deliverables are key in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in the design and governance of automated solutions across Tax organization.
- Partner effectively across the firm with key teams to deliver on Tax’s ITeSS strategy.
- Support the identification, design, and implementation of appropriate tools in compliance with the ITeSS Standard.
- Design and implement processes for managing issues identified relating to ITeSS certified applications.
- Understanding of business and the technology tools most suitable for enterprise controls and control automation.
- Program governance experience along with working knowledge in application of Policies, Procedures, and business operations.
- Drive business wide policy adherence and remedial action associated with Policy adherence, as well monitor exceptions, identify drivers of exceptions and lead return to compliance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely execution of milestones, provide reporting of potential risks to delivery, and incorporate milestone reporting and changes.
- Internal/External audit experience in a global environment
- Partner with 2nd and 3rd Lines of Defense to ensure controls relating to EUC/ITeSS use cases are adequately designed and operating effectively.
- Drive and monitor progress against business objectives.
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
- Contribute to continuous team improvement and management.
- Support key transformation projects across Tax.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 8 years of experience at or supporting a global financial institution, 10+ years of experience
- Understanding of evolving governance, controls, and regulatory requirements
- Specific subject matter expertise regarding control tools and capabilities and a strong business understanding of the products and services Citi offers.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and persuade colleagues across disparate businesses, regions, and cultures.
- Effective communicator, both orally and in writing and ability to present findings to senior management and stakeholders. Well-developed listening skills.
- The ability to collaborate effectively, while also providing a constructive challenge to status quo thinking
- Ability to understand and operate successfully in a complex corporate environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change management across large global organizations.
- Demonstrates consistent track record of having worked as a Program Manager, or working on large, strategic cross-functional projects.
- Demonstrated excellence at identifying stakeholders, understanding needs, and driving decision- making/resolution in a collaborative approach which includes vetting/troubleshooting.
Education:
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, MBA/Masters degree preferred.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:
$130,880.00 - $196,320.00
