SVP Business Intelligence Lead (Hybrid)
Function Background/Context
Citigroup Internal Audit provides independent assessments of the company's governance, risk management and internal control environment for key stakeholders including the Board of Directors, senior management, and Citi’s numerous regulators globally. IA is a change agent within Citi aimed to enhance the control culture of Citigroup worldwide and thereby support senior management decision making around the globe.
Job Description Summary
A key aspect of the IA Data and Technology group’s responsibilities is to provide Internal Audit with business intelligence and insight to enable strategic and operational decision-making across the organization. Reporting to IA’s Data Governance & Delivery Lead, the Business Intelligence (BI) Lead will manage a team of BI analysts and collaborate with stakeholders across IA and Global Functions Technology to enable, manage and support IA’s Business Intelligence environment.
This role will assist in defining the strategy for IA’s Business Intelligence department, including processes, governance, branding and reporting. The role requires a combination of leadership, analytical, technical, and interpersonal skills to lead a high performing team and build strong working relationships with stakeholders across the organization while delivering exceptional insight and analytics to Internal Audit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist IA’s Data Governance & Delivery Lead in establishing and managing IA’s Business Intelligence environment.
- Lead a high-performing team of analysts in developing dashboards, reports, and other business intelligence and analytics in a variety of platforms, including IBM Cognos and Tableau.
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for strategic data analysis, identify insights and implications, as well as make strategic recommendations and develop data displays that clearly communicate complex analyses.
- Develop and maintain good working knowledge of IA’s methodology, especially as it relates to audit execution, issue validation and other assurance activities, and the subsequent impact of these activities on IA’s metrics.
- Resolve complex and highly variable issues related to analytics and reporting in an evolving BI environment, with a focus on enhanced data quality, increased efficiency and simplification.
- Contribute to the establishment of data analytics governance/standards and support their implementation through assigned BAU activities.
- Make key decisions as it relates to the design of the underlying environment that supports Business Intelligence, implementing and maintaining necessary systems to respond efficiently to scheduled and ad-hoc requests for information.
- Act as a strong advocate for Data Quality across Internal Audit, promoting accurate, complete and timely data among users who interact with IA information.
- Continuous improvement of existing processes (including the collection, review, aggregation, and dissemination of information), to generate efficiencies and address relevant requirements.
- Provision of ad-hoc information requests and analysis as deemed necessary - working closely with the broader Chief Operating Office team - for both internal (e.g., Citi/Product/Function Chief Auditors, Chief Operating Officer) and external stakeholders (e.g., examiners, regulators).
Knowledge and Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in business analysis or data analysis.
- 2-5 years of supervisory experience.
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, Masters degree preferred.
- High level of proficiency with the MS Office Suite as well as Business Intelligence development experience using Cognos and Tableau. Knowledge of Confluence and JIRA preferred.
- Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with a proven ability to operate in a manually intensive data environment, extracting large volumes of data from disparate sources, cleansing, and validating it, and transforming it into high quality, insightful reporting.
- Ability to work well under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Intellectually curious, consistently evaluating “what is the data telling me?” and “why does it matter?"
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to clearly articulate analytics requirements and results and make practical recommendations for analytics enhancements.
- Proven ability to develop ideas from concept to an executable plan.
- Effective negotiation skills, a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues and strength in sustaining independent views. This individual must be an articulate and effective communicator, both orally and in writing, with an energetic, charismatic, and approachable style.
- Strong coordination and project management skills; must be able to define business requirements and create robust technical and process documentation to support activities.

$141,440.00 - $212,160.00
