Managing Director, Risk Data Execution Lead
The Risk Data Execution Lead is a leadership position in Citi’s Enterprise Data Office (EDO), within the Technology and Business Enablement function. The EDO organization is responsible for an enterprise-wide effort to transform and strengthen the firm’s data, modernize data infrastructure while simplifying the data operating model and executing the strategic priorities for the firm. The EDO defines and enforces data-related policies and standards across Citi and equips the firm with the tools required to take ownership and accountability for data governance and management. The EDO organization includes Business and Function Data and Technology Platform teams, and data cross-enterprise capability teams.
As a senior leader, this role entails full management accountability for multiple teams, encompassing oversight of personnel, budgeting, and strategic planning. The incumbent possesses authority to independently negotiate and make critical decisions affecting company’s operational risk management practices, budget allocation, or business operations.
Responsibilities:
- Participate ingovernance councils/management forumsto provide reporting on risk data execution
- Partner with Risk Data Transformation and Technology teams on developing and implementing core infrastructure enhancements to strengthen reporting capabilities.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
- Define and establish the Enterprise Product Taxonomy adoption plan for Risk. Work closely with Risk Category SMEs to drive and implement EPT within their area. Adopt tools to establish and monitor Enterprise Product Taxonomy (EPT) adoption across Risk
- Adopt and Operationalize EUC & ITeSS Governance models e.g. MCA Controls adoption & monitoring, Metrics Tracking, Governance Forum & Working Groups, Review & challenge, QA
- Liaise regularly with regulatory bodies and internal audit teams to close/review key regulatory commitments
- Collaborate with senior management and other stakeholders to integrate risk data insights into strategic decision-making
Skills and Qualifications:
- 15+ years relevant experience including leading a large global organization’s operational risk management and data governance function
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality management, and data risk management principles
- Culture awareness and Emotional Intelligence
- An ability to interface with senior leaders, Executive Management and Board level
- Strong partnership and collaboration skills
- Ability to drive results through influence
- Provide critical thinking and effective challenge.
- Forward planning and strategic thinking
- Track record of successfully managing BAU processes and successful execution of global projects
- Ability to pro-actively identify issues and ensure timely delivery and implementation of the of remediation plans
- Familiarity with US and International regulatory requirements in support of financial and operational risks
- Flexibility and Adaptability - Ability to balance the strategic and the tactical
- Strong decision making skills
