The Controllers Finance organization is looking for a dynamic individual to help shape the future of the Finance organization. As part of Citi Finance’s transformation program, the Controllers Transformation team is charged with leading Finance’s efforts to provide accurate information of the highest quality to our customers, shareholders and regulators. Controllers Transformation processes are comprised of those sets of activities that begin with defining and establishing appropriate data standards and ensuring readiness for consumers, standardizing the accounting and processing of transactions to financial systems, implementing a comprehensive set of integrated financial closing processes, which then culminates with instituting common and optimized financial / regulatory reporting processes. 

Controllers Transformation processes are the starting point for the majority of Finance activities and serve as a feeder to other global processes and areas of consumption. The role holder will be a change leader and actively engage Regulatory Reporting teams leads to help transform Finance’s global process. 

The role holder will lead business process changes by understanding current state processes, helping to define the target state, partnering with Technology on the delivery of required infrastructure capability, and with client-facing and shared services teams in the transformation to the target state. A strong finance background, passion for driving change, navigating and overcoming obstacles, and working effectively independently and in team settings are critical to the role holder’s success and growth.

The role holder must be able to evaluate issues of varying complexities by developing an approach or action using multiple sources of information and weighing various alternatives and balancing potential conflicting situations. Requires excellent analytical skills to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Global Regulatory Reporting and Technology teams in the development of the strategic capabilities for Reporting Data Hub as part of the Insight reporting infrastructure.
  • Collect and clarify user requirements, review Jira User stories, work with Scrum Teams developers, UAT test features and capabilities, and resolve issues and defects.
  • Act as strategic reporting subject matter expert responsible for communicating processes and functional requirements to technology teams in order to drive improvements in the regulatory reporting process.
  • Attend working group sessions, various planning, and review sessions to identify and facilitate creation of detailed action plans and commitments to meet Onboarding plan targets.
  • Participate in the analysis and development of both tactical and strategic remediation plans to address specific gaps in the Consent Order analysis.
  • Engage in cross-functional working groups among Infrastructure modules – RDH, SRA, and RW -to facilitate prioritizations and seamless transformation of key reporting functions.
  • Communicate dependencies between technology, operations, and implementation teams to successfully implement process and related system transformations.
  • Develop and implement standardized and efficient end-to-end reporting processes for activities associated with US and Local regulatory reporting.
  • Transform disparate processes into a streamlined, standardized and best-in-class global process, while understanding the requisite level of detail required for successful implementations. This includes the removal of legacy process and system silos.
  • Partner with technology leaders to prioritize and align technology roadmaps to process improvement plans for US and Local regulatory reporting.
  • Execute on activities assigned per project plan and escalate potential issues identified in working group sessions.
  • Responsible for action item execution and operationalization in alignment with plans
  • Maintain constant dialog with Project Management to highlight issues with the overall action plans.
  • Support Report Onboarding activities and transformation processes in Insight.
  • In the transition period, assist users with future state infrastructure as go-live is rolled out.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience, within Finance, Regulatory Reporting, infrastructure transformation, Big Data, project management implementation or related field, in the financial services industry required
  • Analytical, flexible, team-oriented, with strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic and problem-solving skills coupled with a strong and broad- based finance and internal control skills and attention to detail
  • A proven track record of process transformations, including technology integration. Able to identify and drive change by thinking “out of the box”. Strong and demonstrated execution skills
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal and influencing skills coupled with an ability to build a broad base of support among key decision makers at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated success in collaborating and building relationships and influencing across the organization
  • Experience and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment. Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Project management experience, Agile project management, Scrum methodology desirable

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$103,920.00 - $155,880.00
