Director, HR Data Manager
The Human Resources organization at Citi is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Data Manager to support the Employee Data Domain in driving enterprise-level data governance initiatives. This senior, pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the health and integrity of the Employee Data Domain, aligning with Citi's broader data strategy and supporting regulatory compliance and operational excellence. This position requires strong data governance and management expertise, business acumen, and exceptional stakeholder management skills. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to collaborate across diverse teams to support and operationalize data governance across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
- HR Data Governance and Compliance: Act as a trusted advisor to the Data Domain Owner and Data Lead, driving the implementation of Citi's Data Governance Policy within the Employee Data domain.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Collaborate with HR Data Consumers to gather and understand data requirements, ensuring employee data meets business and regulatory needs.
- Employee Data Cataloging: Identify and map Data Elements (DEs) and Critical Data Elements (CDEs) within the HR domain.
- Employee Data Quality Management: In collaboration with the HR Data Quality team, define, implement, and maintain data quality rules and controls, ensuring consistent monitoring and timely resolution of data quality exceptions. Proactively track, analyze, and escalate data quality and policy compliance issues; support remediation planning and execution.
- System of Record Management for Employee Data: Facilitate the identification and approval of Systems of Record (SoR), Authorized Redistributors, and Licensed Applications for Enterprise Data Elements related to employee data.
- Strategic Planning and Roadmaps for HR Data: Drive the development and implementation of domain-specific governance roadmaps, in alignment with Citi's enterprise data strategy, focusing on the unique needs of the Employee Data Domain.
- Collaboration and Communication within HR: Participate in enterprise and domain-specific working groups, contributing insights and progress updates to data governance forums, including the Data Council and Enterprise Data Leadership Council.
Qualifications
- Experience: 15+ years of experience in Data Management, Data Governance, or related roles, ideally in a large financial services organization, with a strong preference for experience with HR data.
- Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of data governance frameworks, metadata management, and regulatory requirements relevant to HR data.
- Technical Proficiency: Proven experience with data governance and quality platforms and strong analytical skills in data mapping, lineage analysis, and data quality metrics. Familiarity with data architecture, data warehousing concepts, and working with large, complex datasets, specifically related to HR.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and influence senior stakeholders across business and technical functions within HR. Highly organized, self-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Education: Advanced degree in Information Management, Data Science, Business, or a related field preferred.
