As a VP in the cross assets sales team within Citi’s Markets division, the role will be responsible for managing and growing relationships with financial institutions in China with specific focus on delivering tailored solutions across equities, credit and rates. The role will be a part of China’s FI sales team working closely with Citi’s global network to offer comprehensive client focused solutions leveraging Citi’s broad product platform. This role requires a seasoned sales professional with a deep understanding of the Chinese financial market and the ability to navigate both local regulatory landscapes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders at financial institutions in China including banks, insurers, securities companies and asset managers
  • Deliver bespoke solutions across equities, credit and rates businesses that align with clients’ risk management and investment strategies leveraging Citi's global platform
  • Act as a trusted advisor by providing timely market insights product ideas and trade solutions that help clients achieve their financial goals
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying and executing cross asset sales opportunities provide clients with a full suite of Citi’s equity, credit and rate solutions including derivatives and structured products
  • Expand Citi’s market share by prospecting new clients and deepening relationships with existing ones within China's FI sector
  • Work closely with Citi’s regional and global trading desks structuring teams and research analysts to create and deliver innovative solutions that meet client needs
  • Demonstrate deep expertise in global and Chinese financial markets with a strong understanding of Citi’s product offerings in equities, credit and rates
  • Provide clients with up-to-date market intelligence trade ideas and product innovations to help them navigate market conditions and regulatory changes
  • Serve as a thought leader by presenting Citi’s views on market trends risk management strategies and investment opportunities
  • Mentor and guide junior members of the FI sales team fostering a collaborative high performance culture that aligns with Citi values
  • Work across Citi’s global and regional offices to leverage the firm's extensive resources for the benefit of Citi’s clients ensuring Citi’s global capabilities are fully utilized in delivering global solutions
  • Ensure all client interactions and offerings comply with Citi’s internal policies and local regulatory requirements with a focus on the evolving regulatory environment in China
  • Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services
  • Collaborate with Citi’s compliance legal and risk teams to ensure all transactions adhere to Citi's risk management framework and are in line with global and local standards
  • Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience in financial markets with a strong track record in cross asset solutions. Experience working with financial institutions in China is essential
  • Prior experience at a global bank is preferred
  • Extensive expertise in selling or structuring products across equities, credit, and rates.
  • Strong understanding of derivatives structured products and risk management solutions
  • In-depth knowledge of the Chinese financial markets including local regulatory environments, market dynamics and client needs within the FI sector
  • A demonstrated ability to build long term client relationships by understanding their needs and delivering Citi’s full range of market solutions
  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills with the ability to influence senior decision makers and deliver persuasive solutions
  • Proven ability to lead mentor and collaborate within a diverse multidisciplinary team

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business or related field. Advanced degree is highly valued
  • CFA and other relevant financial certifications are advantageous
