Job summary:

  • The Citi Private Banking (CPB) Investment Compliance Technology group is responsible for building and delivering integrated solutions to perform RDIP, Suitability and Investment Guideline monitoring across all Investment products including Alternative Investments (Hedge Funds, Private Equity and Real Estate), Managed Investment and Capital Market products , covering end-to-end Lifecycle management for its Business Users and Clients. The group has global responsibility for building technology solutions starting from the Product Inception/Launch, customer eligibility checks including both PreTrade and PostTrade, compliance to Investment policy. In the ever-changing world of financial markets/products, the group continues its rapid journey of digitization, automation of operational processes and globalization of applications.

  • The candidate will act as the Global Tech Lead and Techno-functional SME for our Global workforce. Good knowledge of Investment products and excellent communication skill is must. Candidate will directly manage the senior business stakeholders and will work with them on defining the Investment product guideline monitoring roadmap. Person will develop the tech strategy to evolve the platform and offering.

  • The candidate should have a clear understanding of Regulatory and Compliance aspects with respect to Investments products covering Product Suitability/ K&E, Pre Trade Checks, Client Portfolio Risk analysis. He/ She should understand regulations like FATCA, MiFID, CASS, Volker, Regulation O etc.

  • The candidate should have a proven record in application architecture, design, development for diverse set of applications. He She should have in DDD, BDD and TDD. The candidate should have strong working experience in executing projects in Agile Methodology. Experience of leading large deliveries with attention to Engineering standards like CI/CD, Code Coverage, Test Automation, Containerized build etc. is necessary. His/her experience should cover User Interface (UI), Application Services, Workflow/Rules Engines, RDBMS and ETL. He/ She will be responsible to enforce that the best practices in both engineering and operations and standards met or exceeded.

  • The lead will be responsible for a team size of 60-80, with most of the FTEs in reporting line globally around the world. He/ She will be responsible for thought leadership and vision on the product-platform’s end state goal and will be responsible for designing solutions that align towards the end state vision.

  • The candidate will assume responsibility for global workforce management, assisting colleagues on the group’s management team in hiring of employees for all global and local functions. The candidate will coach and guide the local employee to meet the career development/ aspirations of the local employees. The candidate will cultivate the culture that the CPB O&T management team has established across the organization, innovation, engineering excellence, accountability. The candidate will instill the team with a sense of community, connecting and collaborating with local teams with the global organization.

Job Background/Context:

  • The position is in Pune India, reporting to the Pune site Lead for CPB Investments and Capital Markets.

  • Candidate must manage teams based in Pune, US and collaborate with other teams in multiple locations and will work with vendors/third parties in joint delivery teams.

  • As there will be consumers of the platform services across CPB, the candidate will interact with stakeholders from across multiple functional areas.

  • The position requires analytical skills to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex material, technical, business, or otherwise, from multiple sources.

Key Experience:

  • Lead the development and platform delivery of Investment products such as Capital Market, Derivative product, or Private Equity/Hedge Funds etc with digitized/automated solutions for business and clients. He/ She should have managed multi-line, multi-discipline and geographically distributed teams.
  • Experience in capturing business/ operations as-is process for Investments Products then defining the globalized and optimal (enhanced client experience and Ops MTP reduction etc.)  to-be process and eventually driving technology projects to meet the to-be state.
  • Experience in Application UI (user interface) definition, development of multi-tier application using micro services architecture, rules engines, and workflow frameworks.
  • Employ best practices standards, frameworks and patterns while designing and developing components; a proven track record of using DevOps to reduce cycle time in highly regulated environments
  • Converse with various data provider and consumer applications in their languages/terminologies
  • Excellent communication skill to manage the senior business stakeholders

Skills Required

  • Experience in technology projects for Investments (Derivatives, Cash Flow products, Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Real Estate), with sound knowledge of the functional aspects. Understands the key features and objectives of these products with respect to differences in lifecycles, investment objectives, pricing / valuations, liquidation, corporate actions,
  • Experience developing Java-based applications using:
    • User Interface – Angular 8 /Jasmine/Karma, JSP.
    • Middleware & distributed messaging - Spring Boot, Spring, Kafka, IBM MQ.
    • Web service implementation – REST, SOAP, IBM API Management.
    • Database - RDBMS (Oracle, Sybase, DB2)
    • Data exchange formats (JSON, XML, SOAP)
    • Rules Engine - Drools

  • Experience with CI/CD build pipelines and toolchain – Git, BitBucket, TeamCity, Jira
  • Experience with testing concepts (TDD, BDD) and frameworks (Cucumber, Selenium, Junit/Mokito)
  • Knowledge of Operating Systems and familiar with shell scripting

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of financial Products like Derivatives, Cash Flow products Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Real Estate and Mutual Funds.
  • Experience in the financial services industry with a focus on Private Banking/Wealth Management
  • Experience in building / managing diverse and performant teams.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree (in science, computers, information technology or engineering)
  • 15-years’ experience in software development
