Our Operations groups are core to the success of the Markets and Investment Banking businesses and have significant impact across the lifecycle of a trade. We partner extensively with a range of internal stakeholders including Front Office Sales and Trading Desks, Banking Deal teams, Compliance, Legal, Finance and HR; alongside having significant interaction with our external client base, playing a key role in the overall client experience. We have a client relationship group, dedicated to overseeing the Organizational service performance and strategic partnership for our top tier client base, where we play a key role in supporting our global clients to ensure they have a first-class experience when doing business with Citi.

Our Business Execution and Transformations groups works alongside our Operations teams delivering automation solutions to solve for operational challenges.  We partner with Citi’s innovation labs to drive optimization, and overall play a pivotal role in enabling us to transform to achieve our target operating model.

Our Technology partners develop and implement a wide range of applications that support the Operations, Change, Design, and Implementation groups in providing innovative products and solutions. Role Overview:

The role is within Markets Operations, based in New York City supporting the Debt (DCM) & Equity (ECM) Capital Markets business which is part of Investment Banking.

The role has proximity to Syndicate Desk and Banking Teams working closely with each of the broader operational components that support the business front to back to ensure a seamless front to back process and service offering.

Our Syndicate Operations groups are responsible for coordinating logistics surrounding deal pipeline spanning deal & account setup, Trade Management to ensure timely settlement.

This is a very high-profile area dealing with the Firm's largest clients; the candidate will work on high value deals and be in contact with sensitive information on a day-to-day basis. The candidate will need to be a strong individual who can grow within the role to take full responsibility for the deals they are working on no matter how complex.

The main part of role involves providing specialized operational support of ECM/DCM deals where Citi is part of the Syndicate e.g. Registered Debt / IPO offerings, Private Placements and Secondary sourced business such large block sales and follow-ons settling via DTC.

Due to the high-profile nature and size of transactions, this is a role working with a small team on high profile transactions with a high level of responsibility. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Equity & Debt Capital Markets Syndicate Desk, Banking Team as well as Markets Front Office Sales and Trading on ECM Syndicate transactions.
  • Perform pre deal planning, execute deal playbooks, and coordinate the logistics of ECM/DCM Deals across broader Markets Operations support functions ensuring timely / accurate processing and closing.
  • Support pre deal & instrument setups, associated regulatory filings, Syndicate trade management through to Front to Back reconciliation and exception management.
  • Oversee the revenue recognition and final settlement process, performing key controls relating pre-balancing of deal, 30 day / 90 closeouts fees and disbursement of revenue payments to Syndicate members.
  • Partnering with Product Control and Business Unit managed to ensure balance sheet controls are accurately closed as part of the final settlement process.
  • Ensure the volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of complex deliverables, and the integrity of processes, Operations and associated results.
  • Solve complex client queries, conducting due diligence activities and providing detailed analysis of issues.
  • Partner with Business and Tech acting as a subject matter expert on key initiatives in developing solutions to reduce risk and improve straight through process.

Skills and prior experience:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a Middle Office Trade Support role or Product control role.
  • Prior industry experience required (Ideally in Syndicate Markets Middle Office/Operations) including knowledge balance sheet and Financial accounting.
  • Subject matter expertise in multiple or specific skill sets, business areas or products.
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve in a fast-moving environment.
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience

$98,960.00 - $148,440.00
