Citi Treasury safeguards the balance sheet, capital, and liquidity of Citigroup while providing oversight of liquidity, interest rate and currency translation risks. 

Services Business Treasury is responsible for the oversight of Services businesses balance sheet with respect to asset and liability composition and targets, and capital activities. We partner with the business in the development of business strategy to drive balance sheet objectives, transparency on returns as well as liquidity requirements and interest rate risk profiles, and to support business goals. This team serves as the principal point of contact into Treasury for business and finance teams, ensuring that balance sheet priorities are integrated into business decision-making processes.  Additionally, this function works with the business Finance teams to implement balance sheet allocation, optimization and costing processes.

Scope of Responsibilities

The Services Treasury NAM Lead is focused on all areas of balance sheet management for the institutional deposit base generated by the Services business and serves as a key Treasury contact.  Business units include TTS Liquidity Management Services and Securities Services products.  The Lead will work extensively with Business Product teams across the covered businesses and Finance colleagues to shape institutional deposit business development to maximize Citi’s return on capital, structural liquidity value and revenue within overall balance sheet capacity constraints.  The Lead will also serve as a Liquidity Risk subject matter expert across Services products, serve as a key point of contact for NAM cluster senior management.  He/she will provide oversight and guidance to junior staff in the execution of these responsibilities.

  • Lead daily deposit and loan monitoring and management to ensure alignment with the firm's balance sheet targets, as well as to achieve optimization on liquidity, capital and returns.  Responsible to manage, monitor and drive business product teams to achieve firm’s operating plan including leading frequent meetings with large groups of business product teams to review current levels, obtain latest expectations on future levels and drive adherence to targets.   Oversight over deposit forecasting process for Services businesses, which is a critical component to the USD Fed account cash forecasting and legal entity liquidity forecasting processes.  Responsible for providing verbal updates on Services deposit levels and activity to US Regulators at Citi led funding conference calls when required.
  • Directs junior team members in the production of relevant deposit trend analytics, including underlying macroeconomic drivers and analysis of client pricing and concentration attributes.  Highlights issues with business product teams and works directly with business management to resolve.  Responsible to escalate concerns to senior Treasury management and effectively communicate findings.
  • Leads Treasury collaboration with NAM cluster business product team on transfer pricing, operating plan development and analytics for balance sheet, liquidity assumptions and other Treasury interactions.  Responsible for partnering with Treasury’s Funds Transfer Pricing team in development of institutional deposit hedge strategies that appropriately manage business line interest rate exposure and reduce NII volatility for Services deposits

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in a Treasury, Finance or relevant Business role where the underlying business serves institutional clients
  • BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering or Math, MBA preferred
  • Developed skill base with respect to interest rate and liquidity management
  • Experience analyzing and/or pricing institutional, open maturity deposits
  • Familiarity with bank regulatory developments including LCR, NSFR and GSIB
  • Collaborative orientation along with desire to interact with colleagues at all levels
  • Leadership orientation
  • Demonstrated ability to concisely communicate analytical objectives, observations and relevance of findings across the organization in written, visual (graphical) and verbal form
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint

    Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

    $170,000.00 - $300,000.00
