The Head of Business Execution (BE) – Wealth at Work (WaW), will report directly into the COO for Wealth, and matrix into the Head of WaW.  It will form part of the COO and WaW leadership team.  The WaW business is a partner to lawyers, accountants, asset managers and management professionals with deep industry specific expertise to help you navigate your financial goals.  It offers access to a range of responsive banking, investing, wealth management & planning services and access to a dedicated Private Banker. It also supports firms, and offers a range of specialized capabilities both for the company and its employees.

The Head of BE, will drive the overall administrative activities of the WaW business.  It coordinates and manages activities such as the tracking of business financials, employee headcount, audits, business continuity, regulatory issues and other administrative needs/ad hoc projects as necessary.  This role will manage team a small team of professionals.   They will also be responsible for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and significant contribution to future strategy of the group. The role will reinforce and support management across the group function, with focus on fostering a culture of controls and accountability. 

Responsibilities:

  • Execute against key priorities and strategy for the WaW business across multiple countries/jurisdictions
  • Ensure strategic goals that guide future growth and development of the Bank are prioritized and translated into tactical business plans with mechanisms for key measurements in place to monitor progress
  • When required, develops medium- to long-term plans and executes functional strategies requiring coordination and integration across units
  • Lead business routines & program manage strategic initiatives
  • Own resource allocation, productivity initiatives and realization of cost efficiency 
  • Drive culture and people initiatives (e.g., VOE)
  • Act as delegate for Business head when required in certain meetings
  • Create methodologies, procedures and governance of the Productivity Area to ensure expense targets are met by each business/function
  • Oversee the design, enhancement, implementation, reporting, and oversight of budgets, financials, operations, human resources and compliance by way of systems, processes, workflows, procedures and the assessment of existing environments and anticipated changes
  • Engage in cost management activities, such as validating spending and cost saving initiatives, monitoring savings initiatives and expenses, as well as monitoring consistency between financial information, productivity information and HR reports
  • Identify opportunities to optimize costs, propose initiatives and lead creation of direct expense plans in partnership with internal functions and teams
  • Monitor strict adherence to governance and ensure risks are addressed, setting high standards of professionalism across all functions
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
  • Conduct management responsibilities for a team, including management of people, budgeting and planning, performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions, etc.
  • Manages resources including hiring, and maintaining a diverse and effective workforce.
  • Has authority to negotiate and make independent decisions on issues/activities that have critical impact or influence on the WaW group
  • Applies a broad and comprehensive understanding in multiple functional areas and their underlying business principles.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience in financial services
  • Strategically-minded with track record of execution excellence
  • Hands-on orientation with the demonstrated ability to set up internal processes to communicate and resolve issues
  • Proven financial acumen, critical thinker with ability to provide an impartial, consultative and solutions oriented approach
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general IT infrastructure, Human Capital Management (HCM) and financial advice-related compliance
  • Demonstrated leadership and management abilities with commitment to client and team member experience, goals of practice and productivity
  • Demonstrated strategic planning, delegation, financial reporting and budgeting skills
  • Consistently detail-oriented, goal-oriented and able to work in a team
  • Excellent communication skills required in order to influence a wide range of audiences
  • Prior success working in a large, highly-matrix and complex organization; able to set priorities and 'triage' in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Technical knowledge, follower-ship, in-depth knowledge of Profit and Loss (P&L) and understanding of end to end business operating systems.
  • Customer focus; record of achievement in applying a customer mindset to shape solutions and approaches

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree preferred
