Citi Commercial Bank - SVP Sponsor Finance Banker
The Sponsor Coverage Banker is accountable for management of complex/critical/large professional disciplinary areas and delivering a full range of services to sponsor clients alongside product partners and Bankers. This individual will need to be capable of leading and directing a team of professionals for specific transactions. The Banker must have a deep understanding of corporate finance and credit structuring and ideally has past experience working with private equity firms.
The Sponsor Coverage Banker will be part of the Commercial Bank Sponsor Finance Group and will report into the NAM Head of Sponsor Finance while working closely with the firm’s broader sponsor coverage effort. This person will have significant impact on the organization by developing complex and multi-faceted client relationships with the objective to generate new middle market client and deal opportunities for the firm. This individual will work to meet performance metrics which can be achieved through partnership with Bankers, other Citi businesses, Independent Risk, Business Risk, compliance, product specialists and other relevant groups. Excellent communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence, and convince others at a senior level internally and externally.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for actively calling on clients in partnership with Investment and Commercial Bankers to deepen relationships, proactively owning, responding to and anticipating future needs, challenges or risks, in addition to identifying and pursuing new clients aligned with Citi’s value proposition
- Determines approach to implementing functional strategy. Leads partnership with individual sponsors along with Commercial Bankers and Portfolio Management teams.
- Accountable for end results, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of business area
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and Citi's policies / guidelines at all time
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years relevant experience
- FINRA Licensing, Series 79, 63, SIE (or ability to obtain)
- Proven track record of supporting the growth of client relationships
Education:
Bachelors degree required, Masters degree a plus
