Business Associate - AVP
The Business Associate is an intermediate-level position reporting to the Banking Expense Management Lead, who reports to the Banking Resource Management Lead, as part of the broader Banking Business Execution team.
This role is responsible for wide range of activities related to expense management, including both operational and analytical tasks. Tasks include completing the closeout process for Equity underwriting transactions, Debt transactions and Balance Sheet Management. The role also involves performing administrative tasks, managing data and documentation, supporting audits, and delivering reporting and analysis to inform business decisions. May also contribute to global and regional ad hoc initiatives within the broader Resource Management Team.
Responsibilities:
The core responsibilities revolve around ECM syndicated closeouts, balance sheet management, and supporting various projects and presentations:
- ECM Syndicated Closeouts: This involves managing the complex process of closing underwritten equity transactions, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Balance Sheet Management: Collaborating with global Business Management teams and other departments to ensure balance sheet accuracy.
- Process and Procedure Reviews: Leading and documenting reviews to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains to help understand spending patterns and implement best practices
- Reporting and Presentations: Complete compliance related activities and reporting, preparing reports and presentations for senior management, requiring strong communication and data visualization skills.
- Technology Integration: Working with technology teams to enhance infrastructure, automate processes, and implement Banking initiatives.
- Audit and Regulatory Support: Assisting with internal audits, regulatory issues, and other administrative tasks.
- Examine budget estimates for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with procedures and regulations.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications
The role demands a blend of technical, analytical, and interpersonal skills:
- Financial Services Experience: 4+ years of experience in a related field.
- Quantitative and Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to handle financial data and perform complex analyses.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and sound interpersonal and communication skills are required given the high level of interaction with stakeholders internally and externally. Must be able to communicate clearly, concisely and confidently.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas and databases) and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation.
- Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of financial services and financial information.
- Time Management and Prioritization: Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Interpersonal Skills: Highly motivated individual who succeeds working independently as well as in a cross-functional team
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
