Lead Test Automation Engineer - Operations Core Project Analyst
The Lead Test Automation Engineer is a seasoned professional role within the Global Platform Production Verification Testing team to support organizational success through managing software testing related to the client facing Platforms and Data Services applications. The team’s responsibilities include Production Verification Testing related to end-to-end business scenarios against new functionality, as well as to ensure existing functionality continues to perform as expected.
In this role, you will:
Continuously improve test coverage and efficiency through automation.
Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies for test automation.
Promote a positive team atmosphere by building trust with peers and prioritizing needs of the team.
Collaborate closely with developers, QA analysts, product managers, and integration partners to build reusable components and enhance the automation suite for faster test delivery.
Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale Operations and technology solutions
Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals
Should have experience with any UI Test Automation tool using Java Programming. Preferred Tool i.e Selenium
Working knowledge of Cucumber or any other equivalent Framework
Should be hands-on with test automation scripting or automation framework development
Uses strong testing skills to provide guidance and assist project staff
Reviews and approves the work of project team members in the writing of scripts, expected results, test results, and defect descriptions. Ensures best practices are followed and testing activities stay on schedule.
Focus on building efficient solutions for Web, Services/APIs, and Database testing requirements.
Participate in internal/cross-team meetings, project scoping, functional reviews, test specifications, and technical reviews for assigned projects in an Agile environment
Involved in requirements review and participating in architecture/design reviews with an emphasis on test automation/performance strategy and ensuring best practices
Participate actively in functional, system, and regression testing activities
Capture quality assurance data and metrics to provide insights and conclusions
Estimate and perform risk analysis for quality delivery
Hands-on experience in Agile methodology
Should be familiar with version control tools like GIT
Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor
As a successful candidate, you would ideally have the following skills and exposure:
Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
8+ years of software testing experience in all phases of testing including test planning, test execution, and test closure
5+ years of experience in Test Automation
5+ years of experience using Java, Python, and JavaScript.
5+ years of experience with SDLC and Agile methodologies, utilizing tools such as JIRA, GitHub, Jenkins, and Confluence.
5+ years of experience with test automation frameworks and tools including Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, and TestNG.
5+ years of experience in API testing and validation using tools like Postman and RestAssured, particularly in the context of payment systems.
5+ years of experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and version control systems.
5+ years of Software Engineering experience
Experience working with SOAP and REST services and understanding of SOA architecture
Experience creating and maintaining automation frameworks preferred
Experience using SQL to query databases required
Exposure to distributed source control systems such as Git
Experience with test data management techniques
Experience with change management and defect tracking tools
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and written communications
High standards of confidentiality; ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and trust
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
