AVP (C12) Loan Reconciliation Governance, Oversight and Reporting

The AVP Loan Reconciliation Governance, Oversight and Reporting Manager is a seasoned professional and plays a critical role within Lending Operations. The ideal candidate will bring experience in performing analysis of data and understanding of the source causing breaks while providing oversight from a control point of view.  This role requires an understanding of operational flows for Lending Products and excellent communication skills, which are required to identify themes causing breaks across various loan processing groups within Lending Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • This role will manage reviewing loan documentation and remediation of priority requests from operations leadership while providing support to a variety of tasks related to the loan process for reconciliation and resolution of cash breaks
  • Subject matter expert to lead, drive, and implement business initiatives related to enhancements to the Lending Operations reconciliation system TLM, the product processor LIQ that result in break related themes and the system called Workstation (Helios) that will house the workflow for all lending operations outstanding transactions.
  • Work on transformation projects such as TLM Dashboard, Break Reason Code Implementation, Manual Touch Point reduction, LIQ break reporting and transparency and any additional reconciliation related projects.
  • Perform root cause analysis of cash breaks and partner with stakeholders to analyze possible enhancements or process changes to reduce outstanding breaks
  • Has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness, and delivery of complex deliverables often related, but not limited to the cash break processes for the team
  • Accountable for integrity of process, operations, and associated results
  • Responsible for detailed analysis of loan related cash break reconciliations where the best course of action is not evident from the information available, but actions must be recommended/taken
  • This includes but not limited to assessing service quality and identifying areas for process improvement, service, or technology enhancements.
  • Requires advanced analytical skills to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex material from multiple projects, thereby defining problems and developing solutions
  • Assumes an informal leadership role within the team, is involved in the coaching and training of new recruits, and provides guidance and support to junior staff
  • Builds effective relationships with colleagues, management, internal/external clients, and stakeholders, as well as ability to influence them where necessary
  • Persuades/influences/negotiates with others through collaborative communication skills

Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Experience
  • Energetic leader who can independently lead and drive initiatives and deliverables
  • Sound knowledge of financial products, accounting principles and practices
  • High degree of numeracy, an analytical approach to tasks and problem-solving skills are essential
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly & collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Comply with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, and adhering to Policies
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other office applications
  • Critical thinker with the ability to make comprehensive decisions that will positively affect the Lending Operations organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Flexcube and/or LoanIQ
  • Experience with TLM (Transaction Lifecycle Management) cash break reconciliation system
  • Experience in project management initiatives related to root cause analysis for cash break management and resolution

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree Finance, or similar discipline

$78,080.00 - $117,120.00
