Responsibilities
The Program Management Lead is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in own job and the business. Recognized technical authority for an area within the business. Requires basic commercial awareness. There are typically multiple people within the business that provide the same level of subject matter expertise. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables. Provides advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business. Work impacts an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with very senior stakeholders across Data Transformation program to understand key deliverables in their respective programs and provide governance oversight on deliverables ensuring the programs comply with Citi approved PM standard procedures
- Establish in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the subfunction as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of Data Transformation
- Manage a team of skilled program management experts who would be aligned to a set of initiatives and guide them on running the overall program governance
- Understand the key business deliverables required for a Project/Program and the associated dependencies on other programs to ensure all dependencies are actively managed
- Ability to understand and synthesize strategic direction and translate into the delivery of successful results
- Participate in creation and signoff of program plans and charter including benefits and stakeholder management, acceptance plan, and central program risk/ issue log
- Review program plans to ensure it meets business / regulatory needs as described in the program scope document
- Ensure risks/issues are proactively managed and are timely escalated to the Program Director or Sponsor, as appropriate
- Provide credible challenge to Program/Project plans, risks, issues, and change requests
- Maintain portfolio level view of risk/issue and establish program risk remediation plan/strategy
- Ensure adherence to Citi approved PM standard procedures (CPMC) and tools as applicable for Program and Project Management which includes PTS 2.0 and Citi Risk and Controls. Escalate gaps in aligned Projects and Programs
- Participate in CPMC communication and training activities and cascade key messages as needed to ensure awareness and understanding of PM procedures and tools within the program team
- Establish Project Plan review strategy and guidelines for status reporting
- Provide program tracking and reporting inputs for the Data Transformation (DGP) to Steering / Operating Committee reporting, Weekly Program Management Reporting, and any other ad-hoc meeting
- Maintains appropriate staffing requirements to meet operational needs.
- People management of entire team (Hiring, Goal setting, Performance management, evaluation and monitoring, Training, Coaching etc.) and talent grooming
- Managing the team workflow and ensure timely completion of assigned activities and maintaining the productivity standards of the team.
- Interact with the various local stakeholders like HR, CSIPL management and have a clear strategy being laid out in sync with the industry processes. Make recommendations for training and development needs for the team
- Work with regional and global team and implement the best standards across teams
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
- 14+ years with hands-on execution experience on program management and a good exposure to program governance activities.
- Prior experience of running large scale program management / governance activities for large scale financial institution
- Excellent program management skills with a good track record of driving positive and sustained change with "roll up sleeves" aptitude including a proactive and 'no surprises' approach
- Outstanding analytical, strategic and problem-solving skills coupled with strong finance and internal control skills as well as multi-tasking, effectively and efficiently
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, collaboration across large organizations coupled with an ability to engage/influence key decision makers at all levels of the organization
- Integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive professional attitude and capable of managing internal relationships
- Experience and ease in interfacing with Senior Management, leading meetings with Subject Matter Experts and drive change by thinking out of the box
- Knowledge of Agile methodology and experience in managing large scale projects using Agile preferred
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially master’s degree
- Sound experience of working on Data related initiatives in the past would be good
- CAPM / PMP certification and working knowledge of Microsoft Project Plan, preferred
