The IT Quality Manager provides full leadership and supervisory responsibility. Provides operational/service leadership and direction to team(s). Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge through provision of value-added perspectives or advisory services. May contribute to the development of new techniques, models and plans within area of expertise. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Generally has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness of end results and shared responsibility for planning and budgets. Work affects an entire area, which eventually affects the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family. Full supervisory responsibility, ensuring motivation and development of team through professional leadership to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations as well as direction of daily tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages initiatives related to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process and product rollout into production. Testing specialists who work with technology project managers, UAT professionals and users to design and implement appropriate scripts/plans for an application testing strategy/approach

  • Manages a quality team.

  • Resolves variable and complex issues with substantial potential impact.

  • Identifies process efficiencies in support of unit objectives; recommends and implements new work procedures.

  • Develops a standard set of (organizational level) metrics related to the cost, effort and milestones of IT Quality activities.

  • Exhibits good understanding of concepts and procedures within own area.

  • Requires in-depth understanding of how own area integrates within IT Quality and has basic commercial awareness.

  • Evaluates subordinates' performance and makes decisions on pay increases, promotions, terminations, etc.

  • Uses evaluative judgment in complicated or novel situations; uses multiple sources of information.

  • Impacts the area through delivery of end results and contribution to planning, finances/budget and formulation of policies.

  • Management responsibility for a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

  • Work with the Business Analyst and members of the Futures Clearing Development Team to understand functional and non-functional requirements.

  • Work with futures exchanges (CCP) and clearing houses to set up connectivity to test environments.

  • Create test documents and identify test data for functional, non-functional and regression testing.

  • Perform functional, non- functional and regression testing to ensure functionality meets stakeholder requirements.

  • Capture test evidences from the end-to-end testing functional, non-function and regression testing cycles.

  • Collaborate with the QA Team globally for project delivery and to automate manual test cases using Citi approved tools. Some late night calls may be required.

  • Participate in QA Testing walkthroughs with the Business Analyst and members of the Futures Clearing Development Team.

  • Proactively identify risks, outline mitigation strategies and ability to work under pressure.

  • Track bugs to closure and highlight any known issues or workarounds to the project team.

  • Create, manage and own testing documentation in Confluence and JIRA project repositories.

  • Track QA metrics, estimate work and generate reports for management reporting

  • Detail oriented, with a passion for continuous process improvements

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years experience in an IT Quality role with commensurate people management experience.

  • Proven organizational and time management skills.

  • Demonstrates quality improvements and metrics gathering

  • Requires communication and diplomacy skills and an ability to persuade and influence.

  • Strong understanding of Listed Derivatives, particularly futures contracts, and Clearing workflow

  • Prior experience in testing client-facing/exchange facing applications having faced-off clients

  • Expertise in FIX protocol

  • Experience and proficiency in Test Automation based on Java, Cucumber and BDD

  • Experience with Fusion Clear, Fidessa CFOX is nice to have.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience

Good understanding of Futures Execution Business, Exchange connectivity and Test Automation.
