Team/Role Overview

The Head of Complex Assets Operations is a senior leadership role within Securities Services Middle Office Operations, responsible for the development of Citi’s derivative operational service offering to global Middle Office and Fund Accounting clients. Working closely with Product, Sales, Service and Technology partners, they will lead a team to provide solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients from transaction capture, through lifecycle management and position valuation. The successful candidate will build and develop a global team of OTC derivative specialists to provide direction and deep subject matter expertise to large scale transformation programmes, process optimisation initiatives and new client or fund launches.

What you’ll do

• Drive development of the OTC derivatives operating model across our Middle Office and Fund Accounting businesses.
• Collaborate with Technology colleagues to ensure applications are designed to optimally support a broad range of asset classes.
• Work closely with sales and implementation teams to identify client requirements and ensure successful onboarding.
• Lead and develop a global team of OTC subject matter experts.
• Influence senior stakeholders to gain funding and support for technology development programmes.
• Solve complex inquiries, conduct discovery and complete due diligence activities for client requests.
• Lead and engage with project teams to provide OTC Derivatives expertise.
• Optimise existing processes to minimise exceptions and manual processes.
• Prioritise team resources across a portfolio of transformation, client change and implementation projects.

What we’ll need from you

• Broad experience of OTC derivative products and markets, ideally within an investment management context.
• Strong client engagement skills, able to understand requirements and engage in technical conversations with a commercial mindset.
• Demonstrable ability to communicate and influence at a senior level
• Ability to work and prioritise across multiple programmes.
• Experience in management of globally dispersed direct reporting and virtual teams
