Market Confirmation and Control Unit Head - Hybrid

Our Operations groups are core to the success of the Markets business and have significant impact across the lifecycle of a trade. We partner extensively with a range of internal stakeholders including Front Office Sales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal, Finance and HR; alongside having significant interaction with our external client base, playing a key role in the overall client experience. We have a Client relationship group, dedicated to overseeing the Organizational service performance and strategic partnership for our top tier client base, where we play a key role in supporting our global clients to ensure they have a first-class experience when doing business with Citi.  Our Business Intelligence and Process Re-engineering group works alongside our Operations teams delivering automation solutions to solve for operational challenges. We partner with Citi’s innovation labs to drive optimization, and overall play a pivotal role in enabling us to transform to achieve our target operating model. Our Technology partners develop and implement a wide range of applications that support the Operations, Change, Design and Implementation groups in providing innovative products and solutions. We have reimagined how to provide technology and service in our domain through the alignment of our team vision, culture, and aggressive retirement plan for legacy applications and adoption of a micro-based containerized cloud environment. Responsibilities:

The role encompasses a team lead role in Treasury Ops overseeing FX, securities and derivatives confirmation and control related matter.  The role is an intermediate management level position responsible for providing full leadership and direction to a team of employees in an effort including managing confirmation process for all treasury products and reconciliation control, including supporting MCA (Manager Control Assessment) activities for Treasury Operations activities. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the seamless delivery of FX, securities and derivatives transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing confirmation process for all treasury products,
• Responsible for supporting the management of Front to Back reconciliation, identifying operational risk, trade confirmation and settlement forecasts
• This is a seasoned professional role, integrating subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area
• Supporting MCA (Manager Control Assessment) activities for Treasury Operations activities.
• Directly impact the area through shared responsibility for delivery of end results and formulation of procedures/process improvement
• Provide value-added perspective or advice that contributes to the development of new techniques related to the life cycle of the trade, and the improvement of
• Formulate procedures, techniques and contribute to the development of new techniques that increase team productivity, ensuring entire team meets or exceeds performance goals
• Serve as an analytical and procedural expert, and as first point of escalation for staff members, management and internal/external clients
• Escalate control gaps and issues to senior management as needed
• Identify control gaps during settlement cycle and implements appropriate solutions to mitigate any risk or control losses
• Analyze data to identify control deficiencies and resolve discovered issues through implementing appropriate procedures
• Act as an advisor to new/junior staff
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

Qualifications:

• 5-8 years of relevant experience
• Experience in a securities transactions processing role
• In-depth knowledge of settlement cycle concepts and procedures to resolve settlement issues
• Previous people management experience
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
