The Securities & Derivatives Sr Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to process orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the seamless delivery of securities and derivatives transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement business initiatives, client solutions, or projects affiliated with securities and derivatives settlement
  • Solve complex inquiries, conduct discovery and complete due diligence activities for client requests
  • Provide detailed analysis of escalated issues when necessary and recommend actions for resolution
  • Contribute to processing standards and expectations for securities and derivatives processing teams
  • Develop and implement business plans, policies, and procedures that offer solutions and cost saving opportunities
  • Manage daily performance related to securities and derivatives post-settlement activities of operations processes
  • Propose solutions to implement settlement process improvements, client service enhancements, or overall technology enhancements
  • Coordinate with internal and external clients to assess service quality and identify areas for improvement
  • Act as an advisor to new/junior staff
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.


Qualifications:

  • 6-10 years of relevant experience
  • Required licensing/registration: Series 9
  • People management experience
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills


Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred

Team/Position Overview:

Margin & Collateral Optimisation within Markets Operations helps mitigate risk and comply with regulatory requirements, whilst delivering best-in-class capabilities in margin and collateral management, inventory management, risk management and collateral efficiency.The team supports global Markets businesses working across products, regions, and divisions, with a broad range of stakeholders. 

Product & Business Development is a new pillar and growing team within the Margin & Collateral Optimisation group.The team is responsible for the design and execution of products and services for Margin & Collateral Optimisation, supporting strategic initiatives, objectives and key results.  

Transformation:

The Margin & Collateral Optimization Program for Markets is a multi-year investment initiative with a clear transformation objective. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role developing products and services in line with the target operating model; driving collaboration across business and functional groups; designing robust processes and implementing new platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate as a senior member of the Product & Business Development team. Operating as a point-person for the group with deep product and/or service subject matter expertise, with knowledge of front-to-back flows, risk and regulations.

  • Product Specialist:perform product development and strategy for a specific product line and/or serviceensuring consumer expectations are met or exceeded.

  • Lead development initiatives: ensuring comprehensive requirements are defined in line with the overall product/service design.Drive testing and delivery.

  • Ensure product and/or service developments are well executed: delivered on time and within budget.

  • Work effectively with Citi and industry stakeholders: Partnering closely with key groups such as Technology, Markets business, Operations, Risk other supporting functional groups and vendors.

  • Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external sources

  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of margin and/or collateral optimization.

Skills & Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree preferred.

  • 7+ years’ experience inthe following: margin and collateral, with a strong appreciation of margin regulations, securities products, practices and risks, and/or product/service design, execution and delivery of change projects. Preferably at large financial services firm.

  • Strong communicator who is articulate and concise demonstrated success interacting with business, operations and technology stakeholders.

  • Innovative, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; can positively and productively add product impact to both strategic and tactical technology.

  • Thinks logically and is good at problem solving. Result orientated.

  • Able to write clearly and concisely.To present ideas and proposals to senior decision makers without technical jargon. 

  • Demonstrate sound judgement and a strong risk management mindset, demonstrated through implementing sound controls and processes.

  • Ability to establish and build trust with professionals throughout the business and other stakeholder groups.

  • Awareness of best practice perspectives, maintaining a balanced and fresh viewpoint.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$129,840.00 - $194,760.00
