Citi’s Risk Management organization oversees Citi’s risk governance framework and risk appetite, ensures all risks generated by the firm’s businesses are measured, reviewed, and monitored on an ongoing basis.
We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Vice President – Wealth Wholesale Product and Portfolio Management (WPPM). (Internal Job Title: Senior Vice President– C14) based in Irving - TX.
Job Background:
The Wealth Risk (WR) organization is led by Chris Mushell, Chief Risk Officer (CRO), who reports directly to Citi's CRO, Zdenek Turek. WR oversees risk management of Wealth Credit Risk, providing second line of defense (2LoD) oversight, review and challenge over our lending and counterparty credit activities globally. We collaborate with our key partners in the first line of defense including Banking and Lending (B&L) function to manage capabilities across our Wealth businesses. Our joint effort is enabled by clear ownership and accountability. Our Mission is to build an industry-leading Wealth risk management, with a commitment to continually enhance our end-to-end capabilities through investments in our people, processes, technology, and controls, ultimately bringing success to the Franchise.
This role is part of Portfolio Management team within the Wealth WPPM function. WPPM’s objective is to drive consistency and standardization in the management and oversight of Wealth credit products and ensuring full alignment to Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) policies, standards, and procedures. WPPM’s key responsibilities include governance, credit product oversight and framework evolution, portfolio review, risk identification, reporting design, transformation and remediation of internal and regulatory findings.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing and supporting oversight of various Portfolio Management activities, including:
- Wealth Risk Rating Processes and Risk Rating Models
- Covenant monitoring
- Portfolio Reviews, including senior management reviews and ad hoc reviews
- Early Warning Credit Management, including design and calibration of appropriate metrics and indicators to measure portfolio health
- Criticized and Classified Exposure Reviews
- Work closely with business partners on monitoring of Stress tests, rapid portfolio reviews and Limits management
- Development and maintenance of Risk appetite frameworks, consistent with the bank’s risk appetite and all policies and processes established within the risk governance framework
- Leading and executing on remediation efforts related to internal and regulatory findings
- Providing oversight and guidance over the assessment of complex issues, structure potential solutions and drive effective resolution with stakeholders
- Driving consistency and simplification of policies and processes related to Portfolio Management
- Staying abreast of relevant changes to rules/regulations and other industry news including regulatory findings
- Supporting the Portfolio Management Head on internal projects and initiatives
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
Qualifications:
- 8-10+ years’ experience in Credit Risk, with broad expertise in Wholesale Credit Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk, experience in Wealth management preferred
- Demonstrable experience, including 7-10 years in banking, credit risk management, internal audit, loan review or transformation function at an investment or large commercial bank
- Deep knowledge of Wholesale Credit Processes and organizational awareness, covered portfolios, and processes relating to Wholesale Lending as well as Counterparty Credit
- Exceptional knowledge and experience on development and maintenance of risk rating processes and models
- Understanding of relevant banking regulation and supervisory expectations for large complex financial institutions, particularly in the risk management space
- Proficient understanding of policies and procedures with the ability to execute change seamlessly
- Strong grasp of risk appetite frameworks, limit management, early warning processes and stress tests.
- Ability to quickly come up to speed on multiple topics concurrently (e.g. risk frameworks, processes that are being remediated / transformed) to be able to understand program objectives and to oversee / contribute effectively to their execution
- Significant experience in preparing senior management presentations, strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level.
- Independent problem solving skills
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, science, engineering or other analytical discipline, Masters degree preferred

$144,480.00 - $216,720.00
