The Applications Development Group Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

A senior role is needed to provide technical leadership and strategic vision for the Data planning and data controls strategic implementation for Collateral Management workstream in Credit Risk technology.  This position is for a technical lead to ensure the Consent Order commitments for Collateral Management workstream and is in line with Firmwide architectural principles. It will guide junior staff, ensure alignment with organization data goals, and drive key initiatives that require advanced oversight and decision-making.   Role will also manage a team of developers who will delivering data controls and other regulatory commitments for Collateral Management Workstream.

Qualifications:

• Data Controls Planning and Strategic alignment ​– Review and prioritize tasks, strategy and road mapping.
• Deep work and technical problem solving- hands-on knowledge on Java, code review and technical troubleshooting for critical issues, collaborating with other teams.
• Leadership and mentorship – 1:1s with direct reports, mentorship and coaching, stakeholder communication​
• 15+ years of hands-on experience in relevant technologies
• 8+ years of architect experience – must have architected complex, low latency and scalable solutions
• Demonstrated leadership, management, and development skills.
• Proven hands-on experience developing a loosely coupled micro-services in the Java (8+) technology stack including spring, spring-boot, spring-data, JPA, Kafka, REST-ful architecture, maven/gradle, Web Sockets, TDD.
• Must have experience in Message Oriented Middleware architecture and products such as Kafka, TIBCO, Apache MQ.
• Experience with NoSql and Relational DBs like Mongo, Oracle.
• Experience with performance tuning of code base using relevant tools.
• Experience in working with Cloud based deployments, Docker
• Experience with DevOps – creating pipeline, CI/CD, Git, Gitflow branching merging
• Strong understanding of Object-oriented design, GoF patterns.
• Working experience in message formats such as XML / JSON

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
