The Master and Reference Data Strategy Intermediate Analyst is responsible for supporting the strategic evolution and/or adoption of Master and Reference Data in coordination with the Data Governance team. The overall objective is to support the creation, maintenance and adoption of a unified and consistently defined fit-for-purpose enterprise-wide Master and Reference Data domains.

The Master and Reference Data Strategy Intermediate Analyst will partner with lines of business and global functions to support the identification, collection, and remediation of Data Quality issues and concerns, while executing the Master Reference Data adoption strategy across all Reference data domains. This position requires an understanding of enterprise data capabilities as well as their practical application across functions in a large financial services organization. 

Responsibilities:

  • Review and examine current and future state Reference Data process with an eye towards continuous improvement
  • Uses professional judgment, discretion, and business expertise to resolve varied and complex issues that have notable impact on the business.
  • Participate in data maintenance efforts and status tracking of how data is captured, stored and consumed
  • Assist with the infrastructure changes for the annual BOW
  • Develops Test Strategies and methodologies for Infrastructure BOW, write Test Cases for Complex enhancements to Taxonomies. In addition, performs checker functions for junior associates writing test cases
  • Quality Management knowledge, combined with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices.
  • Create Traceability matrix for Master and Reference Data Business Requirements
  • Track and facilitate the resolution of issues involving Master and Reference Data use and quality
  • May occasionally provide informal guidance or on the job training to new or lower level team members.
  • Work with key stakeholders to define success, develop supporting metrics and then build visualization and analytics

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience, Banking or Finance industry preferred 
  • Proven ability to provide in-depth and sophisticated analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions
  • Experience in managing successful projects
  • Optimizes work processes by knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continual improvement 
  • Ability to anticipate and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, while monitoring tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changes 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in non-technical terms at all levels of the organization
  • Proficient in the use of basic Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience 
  • Advance oral and written English proficiency
  • 3-5 years working with databases, reference data
  • Quality control / quality assurance experience
  • Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies.
  • Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information.
  • Technical skills like ACCESS, KNIME, Sharepoint, Power Tools, AI a plus
  • Previous experience with Citi systems/processes a plus

Technical Acumen:

  • Data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • System and Data analysis
  • Understanding of SDLC methodologies
  • Quality Assurance: experience managing projects, creating dashboards or tracking bugs with JIRA
