The Compliance Control Assessment Team aligned to Independent Compliance Risk Management (ICRM), is responsible for assessing and testing Key Controls, designed and executed by Compliance teams.
This position will report to the Compliance Control Assessment Team Leader. It is an execution-oriented position that is responsible for the design assessments of Key Controls, and associated Monitoring and Testing. This includes the execution of the design assessments, results reporting, and insight sharing.
The Compliance Control Assessment Lead Analyst will be part of a team of approximately 5 - 7 assessment professionals who will be responsible for executing the below responsibilities. They are accountable for assessment results and advice regarding control design and remediation. The position closely follows the latest trends in control design and assurance and requires strong knowledge of appropriate and effective control design.
Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required, particularly with respect to providing feedback on the adequacy of controls and any remedial actions required as part of controls assessments.

Responsibilities:

  • Executes control design assessments, monitoring design assessments and testing design assessments for controls operated by their ICRM coverage area, in line with the applicable Standard and Procedure.

  • Handles exceptions communicated by the control effectiveness testers, including reviewing the outcomes with the Control Owners.

  • Helps drive continuous improvements in accuracy, efficiency, timeliness, and quality of control design assessments and controls testing.

  • Takes responsibility for their own book of work and prioritizes potentially competing deliverables.

  • Supports training of assessment analysts on processes, systems, and execution of control assessment activities

  • Maintains relationships and drives accountability with partners, peers and other stakeholders to drive control assessment and testing's success in support of the ICRM’s strategy.

  • Supports other relevant work efforts of the team where needed and as directed by their manager.

Requirements:

  • At least 6 years relevant experience in control assessment (First, Second or Third Line)

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in controls design and/or assessment.

  • Experience in a Compliance function at a Global Bank or Financial institution preferred.

  • Experience in executing a Risk and Control Self-Assessment program, within a Global Bank or Financial institution preferred.

  • Advanced skills in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS SharePoint.

  • Strong communication, written and presentation skills in English.

  • Strong people and relationship management skills with the ability to influence others and foster a sense of collaboration.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively on virtual teams, including across different geographies and time zones preferred.


Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.
