Banking and International

Citi’s Banking franchise is organized around three lines of business: Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Commercial Banking. The unified Banking and International organization oversees the local delivery of the full firm to clients in each of the 95 markets where Citi has an on-the-ground presence.

  • Citi Commercial Bank (CCB) is a solutions-led business for the demands of mid-sized and emerging corporates.

The Relationship Manager is a senior-level position responsible for assisting clients in raising funds in the capital markets, as well as in providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions and other types of financial transactions in coordination with the Institutional Banking team. The VP Relationship Manager also serves as an intermediary in trading for clients. The overall objective of this role is to act as strategic advisor to our clients by formulating investment strategies and raising capital for clients.

In this role, you’re expected to:

  • Identify Client gaps/opportunities with clients, ensure Citi is best positioned to provide workable solutions and work with sales management to reach appropriate coverage

  • Anticipate client requirements, and take ownership for specific tactical needs across the organization

  • Make Citi navigable for clients acting as a central point of contact, offer clients solutions to capture business opportunities and build focused relationship strength with key decision makers

  • Build connectivity between senior management and client seniors for maximum relationship impact, and institutionalize the Citi relationship with the customer

  • Lead strong governance and controls

  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure

  • Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics

  • Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation

  • Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by your role which will be communicated to you

  • Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

  • 10-12 years of experience

  • Sound knowledge of banking and investment products and process as well as a track record of providing sound banking and financial advice and solutions to clients

  • Demonstrates sound credit skills by being able to structure more complex deals, which can include capital market transactions

  • Demonstrates advanced level of Early Warning Detection skills

  • Demonstrates advanced credit skills; able to structure all type of credit deals

  • Ability to work effectively in team setting

  • Ability to coordinate multi-functional teams to provide an exceptional client experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills (e.g. negotiation, consultative skills, leadership)

  • Ability to work under pressure while making sound decisions

  • Highly focused, able to rapidly identify key priorities, clearly communicate the priorities

  • A proactive approach in looking for ways in strengthening business relationship with clients, delivers a simple, secure and seamless client experience

  • Passion for creating new business opportunities with existing clients and able to demonstrate innovative approaches to meeting clients’ needs.

  • Ability to embrace new technology and understand the role digital plays in the experience we deliver for our clients

  • Able to quickly adapt priorities based on the latest data insights

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience

  • Master's degree preferred
