Release Train Engineer
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Release Train Engineer (RTE) to lead a new Agile Release Train (ART) focused on re-engineering a legacy system. This is a high-visibility, flagship program utilizing cutting-edge technologies and processes to re-platform and modernize a critical application. You will play a pivotal role in transforming our existing native application into a state-of-the-art web-based solution, setting the standard for innovation and excellence within the company.
Responsibilities:
Launch and Lead the ART: Establish and lead the new ART, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and relentless value delivery.
Drive the Transformation: Guide the ART through the re-engineering process, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical strategy. This includes re-platforming the legacy system and developing a new web-based application.
Champion Agile and Lean Principles: Embed Agile and Lean principles and practices within the ART, coaching teams and stakeholders on their effective application.
Facilitate ART Events: Plan and facilitate all ART events, including PI Planning, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt workshops, and Scrum of Scrums.
Remove Impediments: Proactively identify and remove impediments that obstruct the ART's progress, escalating issues as necessary.
Manage Dependencies: Coordinate and manage dependencies between teams within the ART and across other ARTs or departments.
Track and Report Progress: Monitor and report on the ART's progress towards program objectives, providing transparent and timely updates to stakeholders.
Drive Continuous Improvement: Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives within the ART, leveraging metrics and feedback to identify and implement enhancements.
Foster a High-Performing Culture: Cultivate a collaborative, high-performing team environment that embraces innovation and continuous learning.
Champion Cutting-Edge Technologies: Promote the adoption and effective utilization of cutting-edge technologies within the ART, ensuring the program remains at the forefront of innovation.
Qualifications:
Solid of experience as a Release Train Engineer or equivalent Agile leadership role.
Proven experience launching and leading Agile Release Trains.
Deep understanding of Agile and Lean principles and practices, including SAFe, Scrum, and Kanban.
Experience with legacy system modernization and re-platforming projects.
Strong technical acumen and familiarity with modern web technologies.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to influence and drive change within a large organization.
Experience with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Rally).
SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification preferred.
