This specific role sits within our Europe, UK & MEA Platform and Data Services (PDS) team which is part of our Treasury & Trade Solutions (TTS) function within our Services business.
The Europe, UK & MEA Onboarding Product team is responsible for implementing our global digital strategy across the 52 markets in region for account services product and overall client onboarding process design across TTS business lines. The strategy includes the transformation of the operating and engagement model through delivery of self-service and digitised capabilities. We work in a cross functional model to facilitate a consistent experience across all markets, both in-region and globally. The role is also responsible for regulatory compliance, covers all risks and controls of the product and process. In an extremely regulated environment, the team is navigating the regulatory change management cycle, as well as focusing on continued strengthening of controls in the end-to-end process.
The digitisation efforts currently underway aim to provide a simplified, more controlled, and digitised onboarding and bank account management experience to drive increased client satisfaction via reduced cycle times for client requests.
What you’ll do:
This role will be focused on leading a cross-functional team of Product Managers delivering our cluster strategy for Onboarding. This includes but is not limited to Account Opening & Account Maintenance, Digital Signer Management, Checklist Certification, Documentation Negotiations and Encumbered Accounts.
In this role you will be the primary contact point across the 52 UK, Europe and MEA markets for your Global Onboarding partners, delivering and commercialising our Global onboarding capabilities. In addition, you will be the primary contact point for all country and sub-cluster contacts in these markets who will rely upon you and your team to enable delivery of local changes across the Onboarding product suite, most importantly all local regulatory changes, as well as control enhancements in the onboarding space.
From an organisational perspective you will be responsible for leading your team's partnership across the clusters, with Legal, Risk, AML and other business lines, ensuring a cohesive and timely delivery of all aspects of the Global Onboarding strategy at any stage of the product lifecycle. In addition, you will be expected to grow into an expert on all aspects of the products managed by your team, acting as the senior escalation point for all non-standard requests and discussions. As we are all risk managers, you will be expected to continuously showcase enhancements in controls environment for the account product via mitigation of new emerging risks in the fast pace evolving ecosystem.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Senior program sponsor for geographic expansion of our digital capabilities including but not limited to, Self-Initiation, Digital Onboarding, Digital Signer Management, Product Onboarding.
- Regulatory Change Management lead for all countries in scope, ensuring compliance with local regulations at any stage.
- Acting as senior contact point for queries from countries and sub-clusters on all facets of Onboarding.
- Providing key senior management input into various forums, including CADPO client asset forum.
- Acting as senior cluster approver on all Documentation Governance Steering Committee Meetings.
- Risk & Controls owner for the account product and onboarding process design.
- Acting as key client interaction point, for all commercialisation efforts across the Product suite, conducting client meetings, roadshows, client systems training, and demos as needed.
- Working with Sales and Banking partners on solutioning for non-standard product offerings including encumbered accounts, negotiated clients etc..
Please note: this role will be supporting multiple time zones and as such will need to be flexible. Additional flexibility will be needed to handle programmatic deliverables that arise in this space and ensure successful completion of same.
What we’ll need from you:
We are looking for someone that will be laser focused on client experience and can drive the onboarding experience forward in terms of innovative thinking, defining industry leading features and capabilities both for our external customers and the internal stakeholders who help support our products. Here are a few of the key attributes we will be looking for as part of the recruitment process:
- Significant Product Management / Product Head experience preferably in a bank environment.
- Project/program management experience preferably in a bank.
- Excellent communication skills – ability to alter communications approach depending on your audience - level of seniority, technical acumen, internal vs. external, etc..
- Comfortable to chair senior dialogue in high-pressured environment and manage risk escalation appropriately within the organisation.
- Ability to work and drive cross functional groups of stakeholders, countries, global and regional teams.
- Design thinking- Successfully translate client journeys into business requirements and technical discussions.
- Ability to think through user problems, find solutions that eliminates manual touch points for our clients.
- Thought leadership – the ability to form convincing, knowledge-rich opinions on your areas of expertise and articulate those ideas through white-papers, presentations, and client interactions.
- (Highly Preferable) – experience in Design Thinking and/or AGILE techniques to define Epics/Features and User Stories.
