The Chief Technology Office (CTO) is seeking a lead to drive Architecture Governance function that will focus on ensuring architectural alignment and delivering common standards and processes across CTO's Technology teams.

Job Purpose:

This critical governance role will be within CTO Architecture Review function. The successful candidate will be working across the global CTO organization supporting our suite of ~100 applications on the implementation, alignment and management of Citi Architecture policies.

This will involve partnering with Architecture Review Boards across CTO to ensure successful execution and optimization of the Architecture Review process across the CTO technology organization's portfolio. This review process will provide evidence that all technology development efforts align with Citi’s Architecture Principles. 

The Governance Architect will be responsible for working directly with CTO internal and external stakeholders to ensure the review process and associated best practice is established and maintained within the portfolio, owning and conducting periodic governance activities and producing using metrics and status to actively manage timely deliverables and providing appropriate challenge/quality control to ensure that reviews are completed on time and to a high standard, whilst providing transparency across exceptions to senior leadership. They will also be a stakeholder for the CTO app-dev teams who will automate Architecture Principle detection as well as a change-maker with the enterprise Architecture function, helping to define and align strategy to application development practices. 

The successful candidate will need to be an independent, well organized-structured and motivated self starter.

Key Responsibilities::

  • Management and execution of the architecture review process across CTO business lines

  • Manage an active pipeline of work efforts through the review process

  • Ensure timely and quality deliverables are provided by both business and technology teams, providing challenge when necessary

  • Engage senior technology leads to review exceptions, ensuring appropriate justification is available and liase with partners to automate processes eliminating exceptions

  • Engage with technology SMEs to resolve any blockers

  • Act as a key point of contact/SME to teams on both process and deliverables

  • Drive improvements and alignment of governance strategy with Enterprise Architecture Governance function

Knowledge / Experience:

  • Experience on Enterprise or Business Architecture projects/engagements in enterprise setting

  • Experience of technology policy standards & implementation – able to understand policy and translate into actions and recommendations

  • Articulate in both written and verbal communications

  • Can influence across all levels of the technology organization – driving teams to complete reviews and providing best practice SME knowledge to support

  • Has experience across SDLC activities and corresponding governance activities

  • Can leverage complex data sets to establish key metrics and status to senior management

  • Creative problem solver comfortable with working in rapidly evolving landscape and uncertainty.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse groups from senior stakeholders and clients to junior team members.

  • Is curious and willing to challenge facts provided when in doubt

  • Has a strong focus on risk and controls
