HR Business Execution Lead, Middle East & Africa (Hybrid)
The HR Business Execution (BE) Lead, Middle East & Africa (MEA) is responsible for the alignment and execution of HR strategic priorities set globally by the Senior Human Resources Officer (SHRO) for Banking & International and for MEA by the Head of HR, MEA, across multiple HR disciplines and business stakeholders.
The HR BE Lead drives the overall organizational operations of the Country HR team for MEA, leads strategic planning and execution of key HR initiatives and processes and provides support to the Head of HR MEA, including serving as a delegate or representative as needed. The HR Business Execution lead is a key enabler to the Country HR team’s success and ensures HR prioritized outcomes are achieved. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within HR and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function.
This position is a member of the MEA HR Leadership team and the Banking & International HR BE team. The role reports to the MEA Head of HR based in Dubai, UAE with a matrix line to the HR BE Head, Banking & International based in New York. Citi’s Middle East & Africa cluster spans 29 countries across the Middle East, Pakistan, Central Asia, Israel, Levant, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and Russia with circa 4,500 employees across all business lines.
Responsibilities:
- This position provides business management support to the Head of HR, MEA, including managing Workforce Planning and Expenses for HR Team, operating routines, communications, as well as leading team culture efforts.
- This position holds responsibilities for the global review, development and implementation of HR process improvements. This position will also coordinate efforts for Global HR BE at a cluster level to achieve operational efficiency objectives.
- Responsible for the designing the comms strategy for the function, e.g., quarterly Townhalls, as well as professional development activities for the team, e.g., Habit To Learn. Also supports global HR initiatives such as HR Gratitude Week.
- Manage and drive the process to set up a continuous cycle of organization/operating model reviews to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in collaboration.
- Leads on a wide range of projects and initiatives where either HR is taking the lead or is contributing to an overall business strategy, e.g., set up of new legal entity in Saudi.
- Support the risk & controls area within MEA country HR, partnering with global Risk & Controls teams, CHROs and Labor Relations within HR, and also Compliance, Legal and Risk.
- Oversight for Human Capital strategies such as restructuring and org design in partnership with key stakeholders within the business and finance function.
- Acts as a coach to junior team members on their involvement with projects and presentations.
- Provides HR project management of key HR lifecycle processes and initiatives (i.e. Year End promotions/releveling, performance management, annual employee survey, etc.)
- Create methodologies, procedures, routines and governance of the team to ensure KPIs and milestones are tracked and communicated. For example, produces a monthly Human Capital Dashboard for senior MEA Leadership.
- Identify opportunities to optimize and adopt enterprise-wide talent and culture changes and initiatives.
- Provide leadership and promote business ties with internal and external senior leaders/clients across key businesses, regions and support functions.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Qualifications:
- Solid experience in HR, project management and operational excellence.
- Experience managing limited resources whilst still delivering outstanding results.
- Proven ability to work in a team of diverse skill sets and cultures; knowledge of Middle East & African countries preferred.
- Demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, flexible, and innovative approach to operational management.
- Passion, humility, integrity, positive attitude, action-oriented, and self-directed.
- Excellent influencing, facilitation and partnering skills with key stakeholders, other HR leads and Senior Management.
- Effective interpersonal skills – including teamwork and organizational skills.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication; a persuasive and passionate communicator.
- Be data savvy and analytical.
- Detail oriented, ability to multi-task.
- Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
