Citi Finance is responsible for the firm’s financial management and related controls.The team comprises disciplines including Treasury, Tax, Controllers and Financial Planning & Analysis, and manages and partners on key Citi initiatives and deliverables, such as our quarterly earnings process and ensuring Citi’s compliance with financial rules and regulations.

The Intermediate Finance Accounting Analyst is a developing professional role which integrates in-depth specialty knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices; demonstrates good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information.

Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.

Responsibilities:

• Investigate month-end close breaks and propose remediation to Finance and Product Control Teams

• Drive the remediation of intercompany GL balance and contract-levels break which are critical to Citi's ability to meet regulatory reporting requirements

• Recommend controls, changes in booking practices and process improvements for intercompany activities

• Support the execution of transformation initiatives for Intercompany Matching processes

• Deliver a full range of services to one or more businesses or geographic region

• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

• 4-6 years of relevant experience

• Knowledge in product accounting and finance systems, especially for Derivative products, is preferred

• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements

• Ability to analyze and investigate data flow from source to GL to reporting system

• Ability to effectively collaborate with counterparts in different areas of organization

• Proven organization and time management skills

• Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills

• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

• Amenable to work on ***EMEA shift/Midshift

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree/University degree in Accountancy or Finance or equivalent experience

• Master’s degree preferred
