Citi Finance is responsible for the firm’s financial management and related controls.  We manage and partner on key Citi initiatives and deliverables, such as our quarterly earnings process and ensuring Citi’s compliance with financial rules and regulations. The team comprises chief financial officers who partner with each of our businesses and disciplines including controllers, financial planning and analysis, strategy, investor relations, tax and treasury.

The Finance Quality Assurance, Testing, and Validation (QATV) team is dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, reliability and control through testing Citi’s regulatory and management reporting while providing an objective assessment of issue remediation. The team sits within the Finance organization and comprises nine teams with more than 250 colleagues across the globe.

QATV is the critical First Line Testing for key BCBS 239 reports and quality assurance and issue management across Finance. We will continue to enhance our methodology, deliver enterprise-wide frameworks, and drive controlled and consistent results with our partners.

  • Source Document Retrieval (SDR) Team
    • Identify and retrieve source documentation for use in testing
    • Obtain documents via direct system access and Business/Technology SME outreach
    • Compare reported values to source documentation
    • Maintain Last Traceable Point (LTP) Inventory which codifies applicable documents, sources, and retrieval methods for each product
    • Key Skills:
      • Strong research and analytical skills
      • Knowledge of documentation management systems
      • Attention to detail and organizational skills
      • Ability to identify, retrieve, and organize source documentation efficiently
      • Understanding of financial reporting and testing requirements
    • Relevant Experience:
      • Experience in information management or sourcing within testing environments
      • Background in regulatory reporting or compliance documentation
      • Experience working with SMEs to gather necessary documentation
      • Familiarity with systems and databases used for documentation management

Data Quality Intermediate Analyst Key Objectives Include:

  • Identify, request, retrieve source documentation that confirms reported data across a range of products obtained via various global functions 
  • Package samples in an organized and consistent manner with clear and concise explanations of document linkage to report data 
  • Support Implementation of the operating model, including finding areas of improvement in current state process 
  • Resolve document sourcing issues through demonstrated problem-solving and business analysis 
  • Support the build out of a knowledge database of source documents 
  • Provide product expertise to improve the efficiency of the current Document Sourcing process 
  • Ensure KPI’s are deployed and effectively managed in-line with operating model 
  • Proactively manage assigned workload and maintain accurate and timely metrics to enable management reporting of real time doc sourcing progress 
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risk 
  • Foster relationships with business SMEs, in turn resulting in a rich understanding of complex financial products 

Key Responsibilities:

Document Sourcing - Request, retrieve and package source documentation across a range of financial products obtained via various global functions  

Pre-cycle Analysis – Review, Analyze, Raise issues in raw data received from Testing Partners 

Stakeholder Management – Build and maintain relationships with SMEs across the business and global functions. Professionally and effectively presenting information to some levels of management 

Process Management and Process Improvement Implementation – Provide inputs to enable the analysis of the document sourcing current process, identifying and implementing process improvements 

Risk Management - Proactively identify & manage risk 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and experience: 

  • 2+ years of professional work experience, with a significant component of this within financial services 
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience 
  • Demonstrated Data Quality Analyst skillset 
  • Experience in areas such as Operations, Middle Office, Risk, Finance are desired 
  • Knowledge of any financial products such as Derivatives, Securities, Loans, SFTs, Deposits, Cash, etc. 
  • Proven record of problem-solving and business analysis skills

  • Solid communication skills - Business-level English 
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail 
  • Proven relationship skills with ability to build relationships, partner with, and influence across organizational lines 
  • Strong planning & time management skills 
  • Inquisitive, tenacious, and collaborative within team environments 
  • Ability to professionally and effectively present information and respond to questions from business SMEs and Data Tracing Leads 
  • Proven ability to work towards tight deadlines or unexpected requirement changes 
  • Able to take initiative and communicate effectively to problem solve and escalate as required 
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint); Strong skills in MS Excel required with solid experience in VLOOKUP, conditional formulas and Pivot. 
  • Data Analysis – Strong ability in analyzing data across diverse Financial Products, and has a keen eye for detail 
  • Proven critical thinking skills to address document sourcing challenges and able to propose process improvement ideas 
  • Experience in developing and maintaining knowledge databases to optimize workflow 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience 
  • Knowledge of any financial products such as Derivatives, Securities, SFTs, Loans, Deposits, Cash, etc.
