  • Citi’s Risk Management organization oversees risk-taking activities and assesses risks and issues independently of the front line units.  We establish and maintain the enterprise risk management framework that ensures the ability to consistently identify, measure, monitor, control and report material aggregate risks.

In this role, you’re expected to:

The Credit Review Intmd Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Individuals that will assess the effectiveness of credit risk management at Citi and the ability of the Business and Independent Risk to identify, monitor and mitigate current and emerging credit risks across Citigroup and Citibank.

  • Identifies and analyzes situations that create risk for Citi, utilizing various resources such as credit reports, scorecards risk systems, and knowledge of the elements of Risk.

  • Provides analytical support for the team including responsibility for portfolio performance analysis and reporting for regional or global Review Entities.

  • Supports Lead Reviewers in their management of Business Monitoring and Reviews through various activities that include validation of inputs used to determine risk ratings.

  • Works independently with limited oversight and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as the job requires extensive interaction with internal colleagues.

  • Significant exposure to a global mix of credit portfolios and Businesses; contribution to work products presented to Senior Management, the Risk Management Executive Committee, regulators and Citi’s Board of Directors.

  • Validates risk ratings by analyzing financial statements to determine accuracy of inputs to the Risk Rating Model and compliance to applicable Credit Policies

  • Communicates findings of analysis to Lead Reviewers

  • Prepares presentations to meet internal and Regulatory needs

  • Supports the Office of the Chief Operating Officer in special projects

  • Mentors junior analysts and coordinate workflow

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

  • Additional tasks required by management

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

Qualifications:

  • Experience in reading and understanding financial statements for at least 2-3 years is a must

  • Work experience in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or similar with Credit or financial statement analysis experience.

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Access, Word, Visio, etc).

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Thorough clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.

  • Visual Basic experience is a plus.

  • Language skills a plus (Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin, Korean).

  • Formal credit training or understanding of financial accounting standards (international and/or domestic) is beneficial.
