Our Operations groups are core to the success of the Markets business and has significant impact across the lifecycle of a Trade. We partner extensively with a range of internal stakeholders including Front Office Sales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal, Finance and HR; alongside having significant interaction with our external client base, playing a key role in the overall client experience. We have a Client relationship group dedicated to overseeing the group service performance and strategic partnership for our top tier client base, where we play a key role in supporting our global clients to ensure they have a first class experience when doing business with Citi.

In this role, you’re expected to:
AVP role within the Equity Trade Support Middle Office in Japan who processes Cash Equity orders and transactions originating from trading desks. The overall objective of this role is to assist Equity cash traders and Equity Capital Markets as a control function by owning multiple monitoring processes such as break resolution and exception management.
The team sits near sales/trader on the trading floor.
The team is based in Tokyo and has global exposure by collaborating with diverse global teams.
Handle multiple BAU tasks at a time. Ensure trades are booked correctly; Coordinate transaction processing issues to the appropriate department and collaborate on a solution; Perform regulatory controls, account reconciliations, and record retention activities in accordance with established policies; Prepare and submit periodic internal and external regulatory reports.
Implement thorough control that meets regulator’s requirement.
Recommend solutions to resolve complex issues.
Participate in the implementation of assigned projects, including new products, services and upgrades to platforms.
Learn from past issues, keep on improving and build robust service and control.
As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:
Bachelor’s/University degree
3 years+ of relevant experience in Equity Middle Office, or Equity Settlement Operations
Demonstrated comprehension of Equity (preferred)
Ability to establish and build trust with professionals throughout the business, advisor and business partner to the organization with a clear risk control orientation.
Strong awareness of both external and internal best practice perspectives, maintaining a balanced and fresh viewpoint.
Strong, influential communicator who is articulate and concise, demonstrated success interacting with stakeholders in the business as well as the Operations, and Technologies

Strong risk management and control mindset
Japanese: native or business level for both writing and speaking

JSDA Registered Representative (Class I)
