About the Role:
Are you a dynamic and results-oriented leader with a passion for leveraging data, reporting, and automation to drive operational excellence? Citi is seeking a Vice President – Operations MIS to lead a high-performing team at our AIM Center. In this critical role, you will be responsible for understanding business objectives, formulating data, reporting, and automation solutions, and collaborating with business partners to deliver strategic vision and execute impactful solutions.
As a VP - Operations MIS, you will provide thought leadership, guide the team to achieve project objectives, and present results to senior stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner. You will possess strong executive presence, a proven ability to lead and motivate teams, and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing initiatives to improve team performance. Mentoring, coaching, and inspiring team members to deliver on business priorities will be key to your success.
Business/Department Objectives:
The Global Operations Data, Reporting, and Automation team at AIM provides crucial support to Global Operations, enabling COOs to reduce operational costs, improve customer experience, and manage operational risk effectively. As a VP - Operations MIS, you will work closely with business teams to understand their context, formulate and execute repeatable reporting and automation frameworks to address business challenges, and independently manage end-to-end partner communication.
You will be an integral part of the Global Operations Data, Reporting, and Automation team, collaborating with the Workforce Management team and leading a team of 6 to 12 analysts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading MIS Engagement (Reporting and Visualization):
- Lead team members in delivering reporting and automation solutions for complex projects.
- Translate operational priorities into a clear vision for the data, reporting, and automation team and drive execution through projects and initiatives.
- Measure and own the business impact of work, set and manage partner expectations, and ensure timely delivery of project priorities.
- Improve business processes to drive efficiencies and cost savings.
- Coach and mentor team members on the theory and practical applications of relevant tools and techniques.
- Provide thought leadership to continuously challenge and improve the team's capabilities.
- Functional & Technical Expertise:
- Develop a deep understanding of the domain/business and build expertise within the Wealth Operations area.
- Serve as the SME and promote the utilization of advanced reporting and automation tools/platforms within the team to drive efficiency and cost savings.
- Develop business context and knowledge. Proactively seek out best practices and adopt them in day-to-day functioning.
- Build Data Strategy for Enabling Automation in MIS Reporting:
- Lead various data activities, including database administration, data analysis, maintenance, data quality, and database management or database architecture/design engineering.
- Develop a strong understanding of underlying data sources and transform them as per requirements to build an efficient data strategy.
- Communication:
- Independently manage communication with global partners.
- Influence senior partners and establish yourself as a thought leader within Operations.
- People & Partner Management:
- Improve the overall competency of the team and create an ecosystem that promotes innovation and continuous learning.
- Manage partner expectations and ensure timely delivery with high-quality standards.
- Teamwork:
- Drive collaboration within the team and with the broader ecosystem to leverage best practices and enhance delivery standards.
- Risk & Control:
- Appropriately assess risk when making business decisions, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
- Ensure adherence to policies, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct, and business practices.
- Escalate, manage, and report control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a numerate subject such as Mathematics, Operational Research, Business Administration, or Economics from a premier institution or a track record of performance that demonstrates this ability.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Experience in Contact Center Operations Reporting.
- Exposure to Financial Services.
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
Skills:
Data, Reporting, and Automation Skills:
- Proficient in formulating reporting solutions and driving efficiency through automation.
- Understanding of data management platforms and ability to guide the team on building optimized data architecture.
- Experience and expertise in preparing report wireframes and dashboard designs.
- Experienced in SQL (any other programming language like SAS/Python/PySpark based on requirement) and querying data from databases.
- Experience working with large and multiple datasets, data warehouses, and the ability to query/transform data.
- Experience working with JIRA, Bitbucket, and other process management interfaces.
Tools and Platforms:
- Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in Python/R/SAS/PySpark.
- SQL, Tableau preferred.
- Familiarity with RDBMS - Teradata/Oracle, etc.
