Cross Border Data Clearance (CBDC) team works with a diverse group of stakeholders around the world to ensure the protection of Citi’s data. Citi is looking for a Business Coordinator Lead to grow and drive its privacy strategy by supporting and developing relationships with Business contacts, in-country relationship management and the wider CBDC department during the 4 key phases of data clearance initiative onboarding and approval.

Citi’s Cross-Border Data Clearance (CBDC) unit is responsible for facilitating a holistic, end-to-end compliance review of regional and country specific data transfer requirements.  The Business Coordinator Lead will be responsible for the daily interaction of initiative owners/business stakeholders to collaborate on the design, development and review of global strategic initiatives’ due diligence driven by data privacy processes, standards, and procedures globally. Additionally, the Business Coordinator Lead will be accountable for the holistic, end-to-end “path to clearance” regarding data transfer initiatives, ensuring engagement with the relevant groups, adherence to regional and country requirements, and socialization of deliverables to the required stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have vast knowledge in one or more of Citi’s lines of business, ability to gather and analyze metrics and a proven record of addressing and managing varied volumes of work autonomously. 

Role / Position Overview:

• CBDC Dispositions - Interface and guide internal Citi Businesses (Consumer, Institutional, Global Functions) during initiative on-boarding into an automated workflow application adhering to and improving upon required documentation standards. This will include reviewing and researching business information to determine an appropriate in-take decision, whilst maintaining the overall maintenance of the in-take process and tools

•  Cross-Border On-boarding Management - Manage CBDC Initiative Onboarding process enhancements, while partnering with other CBDC teams to develop improvements that also benefit business stakeholders/initiative owners. Provide prework guidance and governance, and partner with the CBDC operational team SMEs to execute timely and effective data transfer initiatives

• “Path to Clearance” Management - Socializing data transfer request with local business contacts, aid in completion of additional documentation and orchestrate end to end clearance. Presentations in country outsourcing and governance forums as business representation (unless local CAC is mandated), whilst ensuring appropriate escalation on action owners within respective businesses and functions for timely completion of country initiatives

•  Reporting - Showcase the importance of Privacy to key stakeholders and senior leaders via great communication of complex frameworks into understandable and actional requirements.

Qualifications:

  • 8-12 years of experience.

  • Excellent customer service abilities

  • Strong technical proficiencies in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.

  • Ability to create and maintain complex reports, trending.

  • People management, including personal development and coaching skills

    Competencies:

    •  Strong analytical and reporting capabilities

    •  Ability to work independently and effectively in a complex environment with multi-location team structure

    •  Ability to collaborate and influence internal Business stakeholders through highly developed communication skills

    Knowledge/Experience:

    •  At least 5+ years of experience working in related industry or disciplines (e.g., risk management, regulatory compliance, incident response management, PII inventory assessments, information security)

    •  Track record of interfacing with and presenting to various Senior Management organizational levels

    •    Process Improvements/Automation and data analytics experience advantageous

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.

  • CIPP/CIPM certification is a plus (Nice to have)
