The Apps Support Sr Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.
08-10 years experience in an Application support or Data Engineering role
The Apps Support Senior Analyst (Hadoop, Big Data, Data Engineering) provides technical and business support for users of Citi Applications.
8+ years’ experience in Hadoop Big Data Technologies or cloud applications like Snowflake.
Knowledge of SRE(Site reliability Engineering principles) Principles
Utilizes good understanding of apps support procedures and concepts and basic knowledge of other technical areas to field issues and queries from stakeholders, provide short-term resolutions and work with relevant technology partners for long term remediation.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of how areas of apps support collectively integrate to contribute to achieving business goals.
Acts as a liaison between users, interfacing internal technology groups and vendors
Engages in reviews of Disaster recovery plans and leads the disaster recovery testing for applications supported
Engages in change reviews of changes being deployed to production and ensures strong understanding of the potential business impacts / cross impacts due to changes.
Perform post release checkouts after application releases and infrastructure updates. Develops and maintains technical support documentation.
Analyzes applications to identify risks, vulnerabilities, and security issues.
Leads and collaborates across teams towards the timely resolution of the production issues.
Active involvement in and ownership of Support Project items, covering Stability, Efficiency, and Effectiveness initiatives.
Performs other duties and functions as assigned in a concise and logical manner.
Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
Acts as an SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Basic knowledge or interest about apps support procedures, concepts and of other technical areas.
Knowledge/ experience of problem Management Tools.

Hadoop/Big Data Platform
Working knowledge of various components and technologies under Cloudera distribution like HDFS, Hive, Impala, Spark, YARN, Sentry, Oozie, Kafka.
Perform daily performance monitoring of the cluster - Implement best practices, ensure cluster stability and create/analyze performance metrics.
Hands-on experience in supporting applications built on Hadoop, Snowflake cloud.
Knowledge of scheduling tools like Autosys / CONTROL-M or other schedulers will be of added advantage.
UNIX shell scripting, Python / PERL will be of added advantage.
Experience using/troubleshooting Office with emphasis on Word, Excel.
Knowledge / working experience of monitoring & Observability tools like ELK, Grafana, Splunk, App Dynamics.
