Risk Senior Analyst
The Risk Senior Analyst is a highly technical role suited to those with an aptitude for data science. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new team members. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.
Responsibilities:
- Developing Python scripts in Citi's big data environment to transform and aggregate disparate data for use in scorecards, dashboards and reports.
- Developing SQL scripts in Citi's big data environment to transform and aggregate disparate data for use in Risk Appetite Key Indicator dashboards and reports.
- Create innovative solutions to data problems.
- Ability to read a Business Requirements Document and 'nail' the requirements first time while also consulting with requester to tease out what they are actually looking for versus the written interpretation.
- Provide timely information in systems (e.g. JIRA) while following requirements through Dev, UAT and Prod.
- Provide thought leadership in continually reviewing process and identifying improvements
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets,
- Driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- Highly proficient with Python.
- Excellent SQL knowledge including use of CTE's.
- Unix/Linux knowledge and experience a strong plus.
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision and a knack for figuring things out without assistance.
- 5-8 years Technology, Data Science or Reporting/Analytics experience or similar.
- 5-8 years in financial services, control compliance or similar industry.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on MS Excel.
- Self-motivated and detail oriented.
Education:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in related field such as Information Technology or Mathematics
