About the Team

Cash Services within Services, Markets, Banking and International&Client Operations (SMB&IC Operations) is an enterprise-wide utility providing financial integrity and efficiency through comprehensive payroll management, strategic cash and liquidity optimization and robust payment capabilities controls, empowering our organization to thrive and our employees to succeed.

Cash Management Operations manages and optimizes intraday cash & liquidity on central bank, Financial Markets Infrastructure (FMI) and agent bank accounts within the framework set by Treasury. In its target state it carves out, centralizes and augments activities directly supporting Treasury in management of intraday cash and related liquidity risk. It works closely with Payment Controls, also part of Cash Services, to operate an effective control framework for movement of funds (Citi’s cash).

About the Role

The Cash & Collateral Governance Senior Analyst will be a key member of Cash Management’s governance and support team focusing on comprehensive governance and oversight to support safety and soundness of this Operations function. The role support Cash Management’s global transformation, target operating model implementation and ongoing operation of it by establishing and administering a suitable governance and oversight framework and operating model. Scope includes creating processes and practices which support compliance with Policies and Procedures, and which support demonstration of how obligations and performance and service level expectations are met.

Excellent communication skills required to negotiate internally at a senior level. External communication/negotiation may be necessary with Central Banks, agent banks or Financial Market Infrastructures. Responsible for defining and executing functional strategy in area managed. Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses globally. May be involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities and acting as back-up/deputy for the Global Head of Cash Management.


What you will do:

  • Work effectively with peers and team members in a multinational, multicultural global team consisting of senior team members spread across several operations hubs.
  • Establish and operate global performance measurement, KRI and KPI monitoring and reporting framework including documentation and stakeholder management
  • Support senior management in discharging their oversight accountability by establishing and administering internal governance forums
  • Own and complete MCA testing, presentation and administration
  • Work with Risk and Control and 2nd Line of Defense areas to manages Issues and CAPs to support the BAU Teams.
  • Ensure that risk and control related policy and ad-hoc requirements (e.g.  MCA, CoB, Information Security, records management, manual payments, etc) are well understood, implemented and administered as per policy and Risk & Control organisation guidance.
  • Support senior management with data analysis and presentation to operate a  framework for escalation / integration into enterprise risk & control forums (e.g. BRCC)
  • Provide quantitative and qualitative overview of all Business Oversight and governance activities (Monthly Business Review materials and presentations, stakeholder decks)
  • Engage and liaise with and supports a wide range of internal clients, with primary stakeholders including Global, Cluster and Country Heads of Treasury, Operations, Technology, Risk & Control and Product teams.
  • Develop new concepts and approaches to solving issues affecting business/ geographic region or a major segment of it
  • Manage multiple high priority, visible change-the-bank programs, projects and Book of Work ensuring adherence to enterprise requirements in documentations.
  • Establish, own and operate effective third party (including inter-affiliate) management processes and controls ensuring that all regulatory and internal policy requirements are understood and adhered to.
  • Coordinate risk and controls related transformation programmes and application and execution of those within Cash Management Operations. Partner with respective Risk organisations effectively.
  • Review and analyze data on productivity and efficiency; make proposals on solutions and improvements; present recommendations to organization and senior management
  • Be frequently involved in a variety of broad-based and complex issues - conducts in-depth quantitative or qualitative analysis to structure and solve problems and develop new, innovative solutions
  • Escalate, manage and report control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.

What we need from you:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of and ability to navigate complex global organizations, especially Operations / Support Functions
  • Knowledge of and experience in working within Citi’s Risk & Control environment (how main policies, procedures apply)
  • Proven ability to manage complex issues related to operations management and implement and manage a successful risk/control environment
  • Execution focused mindset to overcome obstacles and minimizes bureaucracy
  • Demonstrated exceptional communication, influencing and negotiation skills with senior leaders (across functions) to articulate complex recommendations
  • Ability to build credibility and trust with the senior management team across the regions and partnerships with Technology, Compliance/Risk, Finance, HR and other key internal stakeholders
  • Impeccable integrity and judgment.
  • Leadership, talent management and team building experience and prospects for future development may serves as an asset
