Director- Services, Banking, Clients & Markets Lead
The incumbent will manage multiple teams through other managers. In-depth understanding of how own sub-function contributes to achieving the objectives of the function. A good understanding of the industry, direct competitors' products and services, is also necessary in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business. Requires thorough understanding of strategic direction of the function within the relevant part of the business, combined with a solid conceptual/practical grounding in both the function and/or area of expertise and related subject areas. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication/negotiation may be necessary. Responsible for executing functional strategy in area managed. Determines approach to implementing functional strategy. Accountable for end results, budgeting, planning, policy formulation and contribution to future strategy of the area(s). Impact reflects size of team managed, strategic influence on the business and interaction with other functions or businesses. Full management responsibility for multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. May be doing involved or responsible for diverse (cross-discipline) activities.
Responsibilities:
- Analytics leader with experience in analytics and information management across multi-product relationships for clients
- Must demonstrably understand the data sources and analytic techniques that are used at scale by large consumer finance institutions, but also have significant experience leading and innovating in the areas of client recognition, cross-channel sales, servicing and marketing, acquisitions, growth and client retention through a series of appropriate business intelligence, analysis, models and strategies, implemented on our CRM platforms.
- Significant influence and execution skills in ambiguous contexts, and should be able to articulate a strategy that stakeholders will accept, including colleagues in the areas of sales, information technology, operations, marketing, finance, in order to build next-generation data platforms and analytics solutions that improve the client experience and create sustainable business growth outcomes
- Passion for analytics as a craft and the people who practice it
- Be a practitioner and an advocate for the value of analytics in refining business outcomes and must have a demonstrated ability to work within the company and across industries to identify and source talent, design required training to cover analytics skills gaps, and grow and promote analytics talent
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
- Enable progress on key business goals for Services through analytics – acquisition of CCB clients, wallet share growth among large corporates, growing fee revenues to reduce interest rate sensitivity, improvement in client experience and lower attrition, improvement in RWA & RoTCE for the business.
- Interface with Sales, Product and Function teams within Services to highlight areas where analytics can enable better business decisions; Expand TTS solutions to Security Services, as applicable
- Support overall Data Strategy for Services through engagement with Data Governance & Technology teams and helping with quality checks & highlighting data issues.
- Identify opportunities in other Institutional Clients businesses (Markets and Banking) to engage on analytical solution development, and develop frameworks for those discussions
Qualifications:
- 20+ years of experience, including 8-10+ years' managerial experience
- Experience working within financial services and analytics
- Experience working directly with business partners to ensure optimal design and delivery of consumer facing solutions
- Management experience
- Excellent client focus
- Excellent team player; ability to lead, partner and negotiate with cross functional team to successfully deliver client needs
Education:
- Bachelors/University degree, Master’s degree preferred; managerial experience
