Team/Role Overview

The In Business Risk and Control position requires a strategic professional who monitors developments in their field and contributes to strategic direction. This role requires commercial awareness and strong communication and diplomacy skills to guide and influence colleagues and internal stakeholders. The work has a significant impact and contributes to the overall performance of the Fixed Income Middle Office and Commodities Operations team.

What you’ll do

  • Governance and Control Framework Implementation: Supporting the execution of Manager Control Assessments (MCA), ensuring quality, completeness, and accuracy of the Control Framework implementation, including Risk Control Policy, Control Standard, Issue Management Policy, Lesson Learned Policy, and Control Inventory.

  • Issue Analysis and Resolution: Performing root cause analysis of identified issues, partnering with control and process owners to develop corrective actions, and ensuring appropriate escalation according to policy.

  • Risk Management: Supporting Operational and Compliance Risk management, analysing risk exposures across various categories (Operational, Compliance, Strategic, Reputational), and monitoring/assessing exposures against Risk Appetite. Contributing to risk assessments for new activities and business changes.

  • Governance Framework Development and Maintenance: Contributing to the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Organization's Governance framework, including policy documents, training, and communication.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Working with various stakeholders across different levels, coordinating risk and control responsibilities, and providing training.

What we’ll need from you

  • Communication and Diplomacy: Developed skills to guide, influence, and convince colleagues and stakeholders.

  • Technical Expertise: Recognized authority in a specific area within the business. 

  • Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint: Strong proficiency.

  • Commercial Awareness: Basic understanding of business principles and practices.

  • Impact and Deliverables: Ability to produce complex deliverables with significant impact on the business area.

  • Advisory Skills: Provides advice and counsel related to business technology or operations.

  • Governance and Control Framework Implementation: Support and facilitate the execution of the Manager Control Assessment (MCA) and ensure the quality, completeness, and accuracy of the Control Framework implementation.

  • Issue Analysis and Resolution: Perform root cause analysis of identified issues, partner with control and process owners to develop corrective actions, and ensure appropriate escalation.

  • Risk Management: Support operational and compliance risk management, including risk assessment, monitoring, and reporting.
