Data Science Senior Analyst
The Data Science Senior Analyst is a seasoned professional role. Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits
Specific Responsibilities Include:
Conduct data-driven analyses and reports; apply qualitative and quantitative data analysis methods; prepare statistical and non-statistical data exploration
Apply statistical methods to organize, analyze, and interpret data related to AML monitoring scenarios and thresholds.
Provide data pulls and reports directly from Oracle database and big data environment. Write SQL queries in large database environment.
Detect data anomalies and conduct deep dives to identify source of those anomalies. Recommend data driven solutions to address those anomalies.
Use visualization techniques to display data and the results of analysis in clear presentations that can be understood by non-technical readers
Provide technical support to the team by implementing automation tools on Oracle Database and Python, SAS, R.
Design technical solutions supporting complex data reporting and analytical tasks. Generate graphical data reports, including data cross-tables, scatter plots and statistical measures.
Qualifications:
3-5 years experience
Relevant experience with machine learning methods and their application for predictive modelling
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and detail oriented
Practical experience using Python, or similar statistical coding software to build and test prediction models. comfortable interfacing with business clients. proficiency handling very large data sets
Experience with SAS, R and/or SQL would be an advantage
