Team/Role Overview
The Business Operations and Budget Manager is responsible for end-to-end financial management and operational support for designated Business Lines within the CTO organization. This includes budget forecasting, financial reporting, headcount management, and ensuring compliance with financial controls. The role partners closely with Business Leaders, Finance, and Procurement teams to deliver accurate budget planning, execution, and strategic investment support throughout the year.
What you’ll do
Financial Management and Forecasting: Lead all aspects of budget planning, forecasting, and execution for assigned Business Lines, ensuring full alignment with annual financial targets. Manage headcount planning, contractor forecasting, and resource allocation across locations and funding sources. Support monthly variance analysis, providing clear explanations for deviations and proactively identifying mitigation strategies.
Operational Support:
- Act as the primary point of contact for business execution requests, including requisitions (incremental and backfills), software purchases, fixed-price agreements, transfers, training, and travel.
- Maintain close partnership with Finance to ensure financial transparency, reporting accuracy, and timely submission of forecasts and updates.
Business Partnership:
- Collaborate with Business Leaders to support strategic planning initiatives, including location strategy, resource optimization, and chargeback allocations.
- Advise stakeholders on financial impacts of operational decisions and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
Reporting and Governance:
- Deliver monthly budget reports and participate in regular business reviews with senior leadership.
- Ensure financial documentation, approvals, and audit trails are consistently maintained and available.
What we’ll need from you
- 8+ years of experience in financial role
- Strong financial analysis and forecasting skills, with ability to manage large, complex budgets.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.
- Proficiency in financial and Excel.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- B.S.c in industrial Eng/Economic or relevant
