About Our Team:

The Senior Full Stack Java Developer you will be responsible for building out the firm’s strategic reference data platforms used by the Institutional Clients Group in Citi. To be successful in this role, will take ownership of key projects and components and will be responsible for all phases of the SDLC including analysis and design, development, testing and deployment. Additionally, you will also be responsible for providing technical guidance to junior developers, including overseeing their deliverables, provide architectural guidance, enforce Citi best practices, and conduct code reviews.

The ideal candidate will need to understand system and enterprise architecture concepts and will be expected to understand how all components fit together and impact one another. They will work with a global and diverse team of peers as well as liaise closely with Business Analyst, Production Support, and Infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver assigned development projects within agreed schedules, quality, and scope expectations.

  • Participate in all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) within an agile Scrum environment.

  • Collaborate with technology vendors to gain in-depth product understanding.

  • Work with senior management to define and drive architectural direction.

  • Translate and implement reported problems/issues from PMO into JIRA items.

  • Enhance and re-architect existing components to meet new performance and scalability requirements.

  • Provide Level 3 (escalation) support for applications as needed.


Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in an Application Development or Systems Analysis role, with expertise in financial services platforms.

  • Proficiency in Java (Core, JDBC, MT, Collections, I/O), Spring Boot.

  • Strong understanding of SQL/PL-SQL on Oracle DB.

  • Experience with Tomcat or WebLogic application servers and Kubernetes-based container platforms.

  • Knowledge of REST web services, Kafka, and Redis.

  • Familiarity with Unix commands and Korn shell scripting.

  • Understanding of standard Data Structures and Algorithms.

  • Experience with tools such as JIRA, uDeploy, SonarQube, TeamCity, Artifactory, and Git (BitBucket).

  • Strong logical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    Effective time management and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams, collaborate with business stakeholders, and drive the successful implementation of technology solutions aligned with financial services and e-commerce business goals.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ensuring clarity in technical documentation, compliance reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

Nice to Have Skills and Experiences:

  • Experience working in a Scrum environment is a plus.

  • Exposure to NoSQL databases, preferably MongoDB is a plus.

  • Familiarity with functional programming languages like Scala is a plus.

  • Experience designing and implementing microservices is a plus.

  • Background in financial services technology, particularly in reference data domains is a plus.

  • Understanding of physical and logical data modeling is a plus.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:

$113,840.00 - $170,760.00
